It is 70 degrees outside. It is 72 in the apartment. I am freezing again. On my second cup of hot tea.
By around 7 ish tonight- I will be hot. I use to wonder why ole people always wore sweaters when everyone else was at least comfortable. o_O Now I know.
I do know medicines can cause this, and my beta blockers do not help. Plus aging makes the skin thinner. Ever notice how you have probably lost most of the fatty padding on the bottom of your feet ?
I do not like it. Then there is the hormones we use to have - that are still running amuck somewhere in our system, but on a smaller scale.
My mother use to drive me nuts telling me and even laying her hands on me to verify just how cold she was. I hated it. I have become my mother - and I do not like it.
She would do the same thing when she was hot.
It is not fair that some young ones can run around in shorts and barefooted ,outside in winter, but I am doomed to wear a sweater, shoes and socks with the on coming of summer.
You know you have reached old age, when you open the fridge door and say " Oh lordy it is freezing in here" :D

During winter months, especially those when it really feels like winter outside, our thermostat is set at 78 degrees. Stays there all day and night. We also have a gas fireplace that we will turn on if our central heating doesn't come on. Actually, we had to use both this past Tuesday when the 7AM outside temperature was 15 degrees.

Thinking back, my stepmom was very skinny and, there were times during the northeastern Indiana summer months, she'd have my stepdad put some coal in the furnace in the basement and start a fire. In the middle of the summer! She was that cold.
