Yep. Most of us on the Gulf Coast keep up with the tropical storms. This one wasn't huge so didn't get the "Jim Cantore hanging onto a stop sign" treatment.

We started getting rain from her this afternoon. The heaviest rain will come over the next few hours. Looks like she's moving faster now.

It will be here sometime tomorrow. Heavy rain and some wind, possible tornadoes.

Between Thursday afternoon and Friday, we're supposed to see less than an inch of rain from it.
Other parts of the state might get hit harder.

We were right on the edge of the “swirl” as it went through northern Alabama, but we barely had any rain. It threatened most of the day, and poured down once for a little while, and that was that.
Bobby had to order a new windshield wiper part for the pickup, and it has not arrived yet (another amazon fiasco), and we didn’t want to drive if it was going to dump a torrent of rain down on us, so we stayed home and didn’t go to the fitness center yesterday.

Up here, it's only The Weather Channel that says anything about tropical storms or hurricanes. Local new/weather doesn't cover them. Just like during our winter months, our local news/weather will cover winter storms, but in other parts of the U.S., The Weather Channel is the only one that will cover any major snowstorm or blizzard that hits here.

When we lived here in Colorado before, we never once heard about any tropical storms or hurricanes that hit the Gulf or Atlantic states. We didn't watch The Weather Channel then.

Our local weather guys, 3 Networks, always cover the tropical storms since a lot of people's livelihoods in Maine depend on tourists.
