Haha. I have tried to watch that "In the Kitchen With David" on QVC but I find him one happy dance short of the prom.

I use my Instant Pot fairly often and for the same sort of garlicky, oniony, bell pepper-ish kind of stuff so I just wash the gaskets and let them air out till next time.

Since the lock down this has been the most useful gadget. :D

Never even owned one until a couple of years ago, because I never dreamed they would work so well.

Our pizza cutter gets a workout too, @Nancy Hart. Which reminds me, I actually bought some "pizza shears" a while back and haven't ever tested them out. Hmmmm.

Sounds kind of messy. I'll have to look up a YouTube video to see how one properly uses them.

Love the UPS icon!!! I'll have to share my story of watching the delivery progress on my UPS account. Truck icon that updates on a street map...

    Breville Oven Update

So I dropped the damaged over off at the UPS Store yesterday and got my replacement via UPS today. Everything seems to be OK with this one. I've already done the inaugural "burn off the newness" drill and washed the racks & accessories.

Now I have to learn how to use it. Lots of settings, lots of dials, 8 rack positions. It seems to be real nice. Now I need to (1) make a pizza and (2) get some almonds to soak/dehydrate/coat in chocolate.

The problem I now have is the LCD Screen is just above eye level because of the shelf height on the appliance rack I built. At that angle, the display is not easily readable. I have to stand off to the side or slightly on tip-toes in order to look at it straight-on. (Daggone LCD design, it's like those Cracker Jack rings: Clark Kent!/Superman!/Clark Kent!/Superman!) I can't put the Breville on the middle shelf because I'd have to raise the shelf above it so high, that shelf would be unusable. The other issue with the height is I cannot see food I might be broiling on the top rack position.

It's not a deal-killer. You only look at the display when turning the thing on and checking Time Remaining. I could down-size the other items on that stand (kitchen trash can and microwave) to make room if I really felt like messing with it. I'll live with it for a while and think about my options. Maybe a bigger house is in order...

Well I'm glad it's safely in your possession and I can't wait to hear how the pizza turns out. I usually make a pizza every week or so in ours. (I used it this evening to bake cod fillets.) I have gas double ovens that haven't been used but once or twice in the past year; I use the Breville every day.

I make a Mormon church version of Parker House rolls every so often, and rather that deal with folding them into square rolls, I roll the dough out into a circle and use my pizza cutter to cut it into slices to make crescent rolls. I also make their weird apple-stuffed canned crescent roll thing for church brunches and use the pizza cutter to separate out the individual crescent rolls.

It's handy for all sorts of stuff.

Does yours have a "Frozen" button for cooking frozen foods? Do you know, does it do anything besides add cooking time? My manual doesn't really go into details on it.

Regarding pizza, I always make 2 of them: a traditional tomato sauce one, and a white pizza with nothing but garlic olive oil and Fontina cheese.

Yes, it has the frozen button. I always thought it was for frozen pizza, which I never make so I haven't used that button. My favorite is white pizza with mushrooms and spinach but I usually make a regular red sauce one for the better half.

That Frozen button can be turned on for most of the settings (even Toast & Bagels.) I can see that it increments the Time.

Regarding pizza, I make a 3 Day Refrigerator Rise dough, and like my pizzas thin, so I get 2 pizzas out of one recipe. I do the Fontina cheese pizza first to have with my salad, and the tomato sauce/traditional toppings one for the main course. Now I have this small oven with the stone, I may just make some individual pizzas and freeze them.
