Latest shocking news is that there were 158 sick people not.. five.. before people were allowed off the Ruby Princess at Sydney. Now the situation is almost critical. The ship's master lied in an email to the Sydney port authorities that there no sick on board. Before admitting there were five. Six passengers tracked down since by our medical authorities have tested positive to COVID-19. That number is expected to rise exponentially over coming days. This is a massive coverup by Carnival Cruise Lines and someone has to pay.

Then, there was the idiot at a quarantine facility in Texas who let someone out to go shopping at the mall.

Well at least they were quarantined. All but five of this 2700 were not.. and several hundred are Americans.. likely heading home now.. The American authorities will no doubt intercept them when they land. Easier than locating the some 1800 Aussies.

I’m flabbergasted to say the least Craig ...that ship captain should face murder charges if anyone from the ship effects and kills anyone

This will only apply to those of us in the UNited States, but probably most of the other countries have a government department that is similar to our FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Association), plus every state has its own emergency management department of government.
Apparently (and not surprisingly) there are a lot of rumors going around, not only about what FEMA is doing (or plans to do), but also misinformation about the virus itself; so FEMA has set up a special website for rumors.

You can check out this website for more information about what is happening , or not happening. There have been some bad reports from FEMA in past years, but that was under a different presidency, and I don’t think that I have heard anything bad about them now that we have such a great president in charge.

One of the conspiracy theories floating about is that COVID -19 was designed as a bio weapon. This has been debunked by several experts in the field.. by saying "it makes no sense". The one main reason is because Covid-19 isn’t "all that deadly or transmissible, compared to other potential pathogens out there".

For instance, Ebola and the West African Lassa virus are deadly threats that can only be studied in biosafety level 4 labs, like Wuhan. Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever is a tick-borne disease that has a death rate of 30 to 50 percent.

The global death rate for Covid-19, meanwhile, is around 3 percent at the moment, but it’s expected to come down dramatically as more cases are discovered in the coming weeks. And even now, it varies widely by country and region.

For those interested this is what has transpired in my country over the past 24 hours:

There has been a major national shutdown with Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced a raft of new measures to contain the spread of the virus.

As of midday, Monday March 23 the following facilities were forced to close:

    • Pubs, registered and licenced clubs (excluding bottle shops attached to these venues)

    • Hotels (excluding accommodation)

    • Gyms and indoor sporting venues

    • Cinemas, entertainment venues, casinos, and night clubs

    • Restaurants and cafes will be restricted to takeaway and/or home delivery

    • Religious gatherings, places of worship or funerals (in enclosed spaces and other than very small groups and where the one person per four square metre rule applies).

Multiple state borders are closed, global travel is strongly discouraged and within weeks, Qantas and Virgin Australia will suspend all international flights. Domestic travel is now also not advised.

Public transport systems nationally continue to operate, and people are free to walk the streets as normal.

NSW, Tasmania and Queensland schools will remain open, but authorities have called on parents to keep children home if they are able.

School holidays in Victoria have begun after schools closed today.

Qld has joined Western Australia, South Australia, Tasmania and the Northern Territory in taking steps to close its borders

The ASX closed 5.6 per cent lower than the start of the day and long queues have been seen outside a number of Centrelink offices around the country.

The NRL has followed the AFL (our two major winter sports) in making the decision to suspend its 2020 season indefinitely.

Childcare centres remain open for the time being.. however Goodstart Early Learning, which runs more than 660 centres across the country, has banned “all but essential” visitors, ended excursions and is ensuring adults at the centres acknowledge social distancing guidelines.

There are now an additional 66 new Covid-19 cases from the Ruby Princess. Health authorities are still trying to locate hundreds of passengers at risk of infection. Qantas has flown 100 Americans home oblivious that they were from the virus-stricken cruise ship. Yes no one bothered to tell the airline. Unbelievable!!!

Someone just returned to the town I live in after spending some time in Thailand, with a layover or change of planes in Taiwan. I don't think there was a quarantine.

I am hearing that we have our first case of the Wuhan virus in Millinocket, and this is the guy. Although it was known that he had returned home from China, he was neither tested or quarantined and has been around town for the past week. If true, he wasn't tested until he became symptomatic.

Interesting information from Candace Owens. I think that she is the one who lives in New York and is talking about running against AOC; but not positive about that.
Helps to put this Chinese virus thing into better perspective.

Maybe if we all hide out in the woods until this virus passes, we'll live forever. Or at least until the next flu season, or maybe until another version of the virus comes along, or when China cooks something else up for us.

Meanwhile, we are now accustomed to being told where we can go, when we can go, the number of people who we are allowed to associate with, which businesses will be allowed to function, and whether or not we can go to church. In fact, many of us will demand that the government make these decisions for ourselves and others, particularly others.

We have surrendered these decisions to our government, and we thank God that our leaders are of such fine minds and noble integrity that we can trust them to keep us safe because, after all, they were elected. We can rest assured that they are making all of the important decisions for us since we all know that we're not capable of thinking for ourselves.

    My opinion ...

    Theoretically, in a perfect world
, if you could get every man, woman, and child, on earth to follow physical distancing, and no touching common surfaces guidelines, this virus would likely die off completely in 3 weeks.

The virus needs a host---the human body. Either the human body fights it and kills it, or the body dies (same result). It would have nowhere to go to survive and replicate. It would be over and done with. Period.

Of course that is not possible. But the more people who refuse to take guidelines seriously, the longer this is going to drag on.
