Thank you for your concerns, greatly appreciated. I'm feeling somewhat selfish making this post, considering the the great loses in other parts of the world, loses of human, animal lives and homes and countries. Because of the great positive place SoC has been for me and the sincere and caring people here, i feel an explanation is needed. Please, i'm not presenting this as drama. Depression....been going some medication increase and change of medication. I wasn't born with this, it's not herity,or in my family, not a chemical off balance, developed about 26 years ago, due to extreme issues that was dealt to me for me to deal with alone, because of what a person did and how it was done, i paid a very high price, depression. Counselling has been a regular part of my life, then and now. Living in a small town can be hard sometimes, bumping into those past inlaws who made me feel of no worth. should maybe have settled in a different town, but my connections are here, didn't want to give that up. There was not enough truth, when entering the 2nd marriage, great financial distress, no education, being illiterate. He had a lot of good qualities, but not the ones needed to conduct his farm and life on his own. PLEASE..... i'm not looking for sympathy....i'm posting this because of all the caring and supportive people here, which i appreciate a great deal....I'm not trying to cause any drama. Many people suffer from depression, in so many different types, and ways. If any of you are experiencing this in any form, i feel for you, do feel to talk about it. I'm trying very hard to get back in to attendance here, it' a great and important place for me, with all of you, please don't treat me any different, i'm still the same person you have got to know. VERY BIG THANK YOU TO ALL.

Thank you for your contributions to the life of this forum @Micki Pembroke. Sometimes an excellent opening post doesn't get a lot of replies because there isn't much to say other than thanks for saying it. When you're not here, you're missed.

I THANK you all for the compassion and kind words. They mean a great deal to me and in my life. I was feeling a medication failure since November, due to my thoughts, thinking it would pass, did not, should have seen my doctor much sooner than i did, my neglect, should have known better. The increase and new meds are making a big difference, my constant tiredness is disappearing, my head has slowed down. I guess sometimes we think we know best, but the truth is we don't always, asking for help is not a forbidden fruit. My council sessions are going well. My mental health worker asked me to forward on a " Five Star " rating to SoC. She was impressed with the site and content, connection. THANK YOU again to all of you, you and SoC are a very important to me. Will start getting back into things here, i've missed all of you and your lives. XXX.

I have a story....not sure if it's a weird sort of funny or just plain stupid. Through my travels searching for chatting and friendship sites before SoC, there was a person that started up some conversation, quite respectable and proper to start with, didn't last long, he did a complete turn around, so goodbye to him and that site, they were all pretty much the same. I change my screen name for every site i visited, but guess who didn't, came across him again, and that was for a couple of times more. The reason this post being in the Mental Health thread.......is, he stated on all his profiles on those sites, that he was a " Adult Mental Health Counsellor "............. So, who do you think he can actually help..........Professionals in their fields are supposed to help those in need..........I think he's in need of a lot of help himself.

People can claim to be whatever they want online. Sometimes people do this simply because they are afraid to reveal who they really are, but feel the need to take on some identity. Others enjoy a little bit of make-believe online, or the extra attention that their words might command when their audience believes they are credentialed in whatever the topic might be. Usually, this is harmless but it can also be nefarious.

Even when we try not to, I suppose we all play games to one extent or another, and we may even fool ourselves sometimes. But when the idea is to fool someone who is looking for a serious conversation, that can be harmful, and may even fall under the concept of not playing well with others. I'm not sure what you're talking about here, or who, perhaps because I no longer read any of the other senior forums, but I would like you to feel comfortable here.

@Ken Anderson Thank you for your insight. I hope you didn't think i was in any way, shape, or form referring to anything on SoC.....I was not.....Think maybe i've been living in the potato patch too long, and showing how naive i can be. Learned that some are capable of the weirdest presentations. One of life's learning lesson. I feel extremely comfortable and happy here.
