    Hello everyone...

I am finding that learning my way around the Windows 10 Operating System is very difficult. Even the 2 books I bought: "Windows 10 for Dummies" and "Windows 10 for Seniors" are of little help.

The helpful people on this Forum have tried to make it as easy for me as possible, but there are so many steps even in a simple task that I just can't get it.

I could learn to transfer Videos from YouTube if I could master just one step at a time, then go back and try to combine that with a second step.

Helpful instructions that fill a full page are like being struck with a baseball bat on the skull.

I can only learn through "baby steps", like training a Chimp. There is no faster way for me now.

Several Geek Squad trips will certainly be necessary to learn the minimum skills for Windows 10.

Funny...but I have very little trouble learning a Piano piece, such as "Stardust", "Sentimental Journey",
"Love Walked In", "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes", and other lovely ballads.

    Respectfully,
    Hal Pollner

I've never had a problem with a Windows, probably because I've been using a computer since 1989. That is both at a job and home.

@Hal Pollner taking baby steps, hmmm.

Getting to know your computer would help a lot.

Take your book(s) and learn what each button/key that you don't know anything about by practicing its function. It takes time for it to stick so being patient is key.

I would say your frustration is because of the combinations of some functions which takes more than just one key and an order/sequence to complete a task.

Concentrate on one thing that you want to learn to do and practice what the book says. Look up the words that stump you in the glossary of the book for an explanation. Again patience is key.

I don't use it much, but I can see how Windows 10 could be a challenge since it looks very different from previous versions of Windows. I think pretty much all of the same stuff is there, only some of it's renamed and it's in different places.

Forget about the books and just poke around using common sense. Past versions of Windows allowed you to perform a task in more than one way. I have 8.1. After complaints by Windows 8 users, they came out with 8.1 which is more like older Windows versions alongside the 8 version as well.

    Dear Hal, you say:

"I could learn to transfer Videos from YouTube if I could master just one step at a time, then go back and try to combine that with a second step."

Perhaps I can help you, in regard to transferring Videos from YouTube.

Where are you transferring Videos from YouTube to?
