Bernie ??? People probably have no idea of Socialism\Communism when they think they are going to get something for nothing. Government have no money, they only have your money so when they spend money giving away for things, and you are paying for it. The only people that do well in socialism\communism are the people running it and their friends all others are just useless eater. Socialism eliminates the middle class you have the elites and the poor.
He continues to bamboozle people with his shouting out of everything "free" and they are overcome with joy. Sad.
He really upset his younger supporters when he started his rhetoric about the government controlling 'the cost' of the internet. They saw this as giving the government control of the internet. They absolutely don't want that to happen. Instead, many branches of supporters are now deciding who they will support instead. I know all this because my daughter was a big Bernie supporter. She attended all the local meetings. He shot himself in the foot when he rolled out his internet (IP) take over.
The problem with Bernie's followers is they do not realize that there is no such thing as a "free lunch." They hear "free" and are starry eyed. Schools are not covering what life was like in the Soviet Union and how one cannot own anything at all under a Socialist/Communist regime. They believe Marx's diatribe in Das Kapital. Study his life and you will find who his heroes were. Good grief where are the good teachers and professors of yesteryear?
Many of his supporters were there due to his promise to reduce or eliminate student loans. I understand it is hard to pay those back, especially when the loans were taken with no plans whatsoever to actually get a degree. So now, they work lower paying jobs with no monthly extra, their tax returns are taken by the government and their credit is shot. My daughter is one of those. She has no one to blame but herself, but these 'loans' were easy to get and her generation thought of it as free money because they never even had to attend a class. So now, they tend to support anyone promising to fix their woes. If it wasn't all so silly, I would think perhaps it was planned out a decade ago in order to suck votes from that particular generation.
All promises of paying off things for you but how does the government do that whrn they only have your money so you are paying for it.
