Happy Thanksgiving, boys and girls... and those of you who may identify as something else.

We went out and had a nice breakfast, with a Bloody Mary. Went back home and the old B-Complex vitamin kicked in and we put up our 8' artificial Christmas tree. Last year to use this and some of the décor we have. Already have our Christmas Village set up on our dining room table, with a couple of new buildings, farm animals and wildlife figurines.

Headed to JC Penny's, which opened at 2PM, so wife could get her Cooks Smokeless Indoor Grill that was on a Black Friday sale (1/2 off w/$20 rebate). A very long line in front of Penny's, but we endured and got the Grill. Will be so, so glad to get to a much smaller population!

Then, went to Cracker Barrel for Thanksgiving Dinner and had an hour and a half wait. Sat outside in the rocking chairs. Sure glad we had "winter" type coats on. A Nor'easter hit us and it sure wasn't "Florida warm" weather! Then, once we finally got called for a table, they had run out of cranberry sauce. What is Thanksgiving Dinner without cranberry sauce for the turkey??? And, there stuffing mix, one word...….YUK!! Stopped at an open small grocery store on the way home and bought a box of Stove Top Turkey Stuffing Mix and jar of Turkey Gravy to go with the turkey we brought home from Cracker Barrel. Will have a better Thanksgiving Dinner today (Black Friday).

Other than that, very, very nice Thanksgiving. LOL

I just learned this today and will now do a little research about the history of the holiday.

@Micki Pembroke is Canadian. I bet she knows the history. :) I wonder if they have Indians as part of their Thanksgiving story.

Yes, Natives are a part of our Thanksgiving story. Not a very good History teller, you'll get more accurate History facts through books or on line...;).

Yes I knew it. I learned all the Canadian holidays and when to anticipate the arrival of various income groups when I owned a motel.

"Canadian Thanksgiving Is October 14th Did You Know That?"

Actually, it's the second Monday in October, which happens to be the 14th this year. :p Steve was talking about his family's thanksgiving in his low-carb thread.

    Happy Thanksgiving, Canada!!
