    @Beth Gallagher
    Not a problem, I've confused the two forever. Never really realized how far out in the ocean Bermuda is!

    It is really bad! They were predicting 20 foot wave surges, and they said the highest elevation on the island is only 30 feet.

    I'm going to blame it on watching a documentary about the Bermuda Triangle yesterday on the Science Channel. :D (Plus "old-timers.")

    What a president he stops a cat5 hurricane in its track. Have it stay over the Chinese shipping depot in the Bahamas and still have time for a golf game.

    We're supposed to start getting rain from it tomorrow morning. Winds 30 MPH with gusts up to 60 MPH. Heaviest rains overnight tomorrow night. We should be OK here but It's not looking too good for our coast.

    Same here. Much of our coast areas lost power and have some storm surge issues, but on this side of town, it was actually more calm than an afternoon thunderstorm. It just lasted all day. It was so mild, I still have my windows open from this morning.

    It's possible that we could lose power if a tree or limb falls on a power line. But Duke Energy does a good job of keeping trees removed from near power lines.

    There will be some seriously angry boat owners from this Bermuda marina after seeing their 'toys' tossed about like toys by Dorian's fury.

    Looks like it is headed along the coastline, but staying off-shore. There are two in the Pacific, and both of them are fairly close to Hawaii, one just south of Hawaii, and the other one is head but heading in that direction, so hoping that they don’t cause damage out there.

    This is the annoying thing about hurricanes and why people hesitate to evacuate. It was the same CAT as the one that almost drowned us a couple of years ago, but happened to end up 45 miles further away from our particular coastline. The day was windy and intermittent rain, but a lot less that we usually get as an almost daily afternoon shower. No lightening, no thunder.....it was a non event. Only the people directly on the beach had any noticeable outcome. So, you prepare and stay nervous for a week only for it to fizzle out like a cheap date. :D
