It's a Bank holiday weekend here (4 days off for many people)..so the mass escape for everyone was under way on Friday , so after I'd been to town, I drove around my rural village neighbourhood.. and took some pictures ..thought you might like to see where I live.. upload_2019-8-25_10-54-0.gif I took all these pics within an hour including my little walk in the woods...

I tried to get closer for this baby squirrel..I was tip-toeing on the tarmac so as not to spook him, but a woman walking her dog came out on the opposite side and the squirrel shot up the tree.. shame!

Nice pictures. Doesn't part of what they show look English somehow?
Comfy bus stop. So travellers can't complain about any delays. :D The straw stacks are also quite unusual. I only know bales.
    Thanks for sharing.

Holly, some of your pictures is one of the big reasons we returned to Colorado...…..hay fields, tractors, farms, cattle grazing and either bales of hay or rolls of hay in fields. Many folks here would say that the area has become "big city", but only part of it has. Still a lot of farm land around here. And, lots and lots of corn fields seen next to the freeway (I-25) here.

Now, Denver, which we drove to last week, is most definitely "big city" and many folks here won't go there. People here call Denver "Colorado's version of Los Angeles" and we could definitely see that when we drove thru.

Delightful pictures, @Holly Saunders! I would really like to meet your neighbor and you, of course. It looks as though you live in a rural area, and so close to London. Amazing!

Yes I do live in a rural area.. 20 miles from Central London...or 20 minutes drive from North London...you really don't have to go very far out of any cities in the UK to be in the rural shires... :D btw I have more than one neighbour.. you can meet them all if you like...
