Well, the president issued a warning to Mexico today.
Donald Trump stated that if Mexico didn't stop the caravan then he would send the military to close the border entirely.

Now the question does indeed come up as to what the military is going to do?
Are we going to have another Kent State on steroids or are they just going to stand there and look all military like?
Are they going to be given riot gear and beat the crowd back with batons, tear gas and water canons or give them a hundred bucks to go home?

I realize that I am probably sounding pretty pessimistic but I have a funny feeling that it's either going to get really hot on our border or the good illegal Honduran immigrants will be shown where tent city is and given a dance card.

You could call it an invasion which would make it legal to use force. I still feel they have non lethal deterrents they could use.

President Trump tweeted that he had warned both Honduras and Guatemala that he would stop all aid to their countries of the caravan continued, and I think that maybe he told the Mexican president the same thing.
Look at this news.......Mexico has sent their national guard to help stop the caravan.

Okay, here they come. I understand Mexico has asked the United Nations for some help. Too late to build that fence this go round. They are headed for our southern border. The president has said he'll send troops. Personally, I say send the troops. This has to be stopped at some point. Mexico or the United Nations can build a tent city south of the border in Mexico. Maybe other options exist. It's all above my pay grade. What do yo think? IMG_1712.JPG

Invasion or not, I do not believe our troops would fire upon civilians and neither does our enemies which is why many of them use civilians and children as human shields.
Pepper spray, water canons or tear gas will only make them disperse and find other parts of the border to cross.
They will out wait us and come over one by one if they have to unless the Mexican Federale's are uh, a little more persuasive than we are. When I lived in Mexico, I saw some of the federal guys at work and they can be a bit mean to say the least.

Bobby Cole if the US drones can find a guy hiding in the Afghanistan mountains we can find a group crossing the border. The immigrant mob are attacking the police in Mexico that in itself is a reason to use force. The military would be the correct response to an invasion. Make it a military deployment than they can also control the leftest cry babies on the US side from interfering. This should be great entertainment razor wire and rubber bullet time.

There will be women and children out front, and I can't imagine what our troops are going to do to stop them from entering the country, which is why we need a border wall. Given that there are American individuals and organizations facilitating this, I don't know why they couldn't be arrested.

The reports are rather vague this morning but it seems that whoever is leading the caravan has indeed placed the women and children in front of the crowd at the Mexican / Guatemalan border.
At some point pepper spray was used and it seems as though the caravan fought back with sticks, rocks and bottles but even so, a representative of the Mexican government said that they would NOT use coercive action against the civilian caravan. (Whatever that means)

The representative did say however that they would start processing the caravan in much the same manner as the U.S. does in that they would review each case and allow some through the border and into Mexico depending on the situation.
So, the dispersing has begun and in my somewhat uninformed opinion, those who are still determined to make it to the U.S. border will do so and we in turn and much to this writers chagrin, will probably process them through into the U.S. as we have for the last 10 years or so.

Many thanks to the liberals who have decided on how best to spend my tax money. May at least one illegal immigrant plant a memorable pile of dung upon your front lawn.

    Blankets and bolt cutters.
But, they probably will not have to go to the trouble because some federal court, probably the fifth district will file an injunction against the president’s decision to stop the onslaught with our military and then they’ll have to process each individual into the U.S. whilst housing and feeding them during said process.

The supreme court [SC] already back Trumps ability to stop immigration. So if they are crossing it is an invasion than should be dealt with by the military. The SC already went through that so a federal judge can not over rule. This is going to be very interesting which ever way it goes.

Ya see, that’s a problem. Whilst the Supreme Court has already ruled on the constitutionality of our immigration policy, it’s the President who has the right to bring the military in to handle said policy which can be disputed by a Federal Courts judge and in particular, the liberal 5th district.
They’ve already placed stays and holds on a few orders President Trump has administered and I’m sure that this will be no different.
But, like you wrote @Martin Alonzo, it’s going to be interesting. Very interesting indeed!
