    @Ken Anderson
    Yep! I found used fenders and front end parts in December, tore apart the body, replaced some parts, and as things heated up here, I decided if I gave up the garage for our 2 daily drivers, they would be hard-put to get into, so curtailed work outside. Anything metal out in our sun is way too hot to touch.........so I'm waiting for September!

    The car is my nephew's; he's deployed to Okinawa. Offered to do what I can for the car, have 3 years to accomplish it......(God willing).

    @Frank Sanoica so what's the story with the car? How did it get in the condition it is?

    All I can say is, "better you than me, Frank". I'm just not into that kind of labor. But, good luck anyway and I'm sure you'll do a good job.

    That is what I was wondering as well, @Frank Sanoica . I remember you telling us about your nephew’s vehicle that was being hauled somewhere (to your place maybe?) and there was an accident and it came off of the tow trailer.
    Is this that same vehicle or a different one ? Aside from the front end being partially dismantled, it doesn’t look much like it had been in an accident.

    @Von Jones @Yvonne Smith
    My nephew was enroute to our place last Sept. from his wife's folks place in St.Louis, preparing to deploy to Okinawa (Marine Corps.). They were riding in his Chevy pickup, towing the blue Ford on a trailer. 60 miles west of St. Louis a semi-trailer nudged the wheels of Danny's trailer, throwing the truck and trailer into an unsavable fishtail, truck hit center barricade, car broke loose, hit rear of truck. All three conveyances totalled. He had the car trucked back to St.Louis, rented a car at the crash site which was brought to him by the rental agency. Thing was, all their belongings going to Okinawa as well as his gun collection had to be transferred to the rental SUV. A highway cop even helped them. He had no qualms or questions when told about the guns, even helped load/unload them (no pun intended). They then drove on to AZ, where his collection is now safely locked up. From here they went up to Vegas (120 miles), drohim, pped off the rental, and flew to Seattle, where the military flight left from for Okinawa.

    I contracted with a car trailering company the following month, and had the blue car shipped to our place the following month. I agreed to see what parts I could find for a 50+ year old car, and to install them. Danny is a good example of a kid who as a teen was heading down the wrong path; he became that way as a result of his folks getting divorced. His dad, also a retired Marine, convinced him to join. Definitely made a man out of him, a successful one at that.
