Those flowers are gorgeous @Babs Hunt , do you know what they are?

It's late afternoon here, it's been humid and overcast, but it's supposed to get sunnier as from tomorrow.

Today I cleared out my linen cupboard.. Chucked out a whole load of sheets and duvet covers that no longer fit the new beds.. and packed a whole lot of perfect condition but unmatching bath towels up to take to my daughter for the dogs.. she can never get enough towels to dry them off, particularly in the grooming studio or when she's had them swimming in the lagoon. My linen cupboard looks all neat and tidy again....

Tomorrow I have a hospital appointment with the neurologist, it's not a hospital I'm familiar with and it's in the next county , but that's the last hospital appt before I go away...I sincerely hope anyway... Only trouble is I have to take a whole batch of different meds with me, they'll think I'm a drug dealer..*yikes*

Daughter called me from Spain today and was on the phone about 30 minutes..I don't often get such luxury she rarely has the time, but she was talking on her hands free while driving over the mountain to the vet in town...

Anyway...have a super day whatever you're all doing today..

At one time my wife was fairly close to her mom, but after we left So California, we'd either meet her and some of the rest of the family in Vegas each December or only talk on the phone. It did hit my wife when we found out, from her older sister, that her mom had passed away, but the older sister was much closer to their mom than my wife was anymore. Financially speaking, neither my wife or her brother could fly and attend her mom's funeral. But, we have got many photos of her mom going all the way back to when my wife was a little girl all the way up to 2008 when her mom, brother and older sister came to North Carolina to see us.

Her mom like me, but sure didn't understand the "rodeo cowboy" thing about me.

We are back in St.Peter now and spent today chilled out and dozed a lot [IMG] I have put a few photos of the state of play at the dacha, as an extra I did wire in a new lamp which Lisa fell in love with in the hallway, which was always dingy having no light there at all.

    The lamp

Part of the garden near the shed yesterday afternoon, there are lupins everywhere here now, especially alongside the railway tracks on the way to St.Petersburg

Sadly I had a message from my brother Geoff last night, saying that he has been diagnosed with kidney cancer, fortunately the scans show the tumour confined to the kidney, so hopefully after the planned removal of the whole kidney, he will not need any further treatment. I will go and visit him as soon as I return home from Russia in a couple of weeks time. I tend to sail through life feeling immortal, until news like this brings it home to me, just how fragile and transient life really is [IMG]

I didn't mean to ''like'' your post Terry, just an indication that I'd read it..and a term of support.

I'm sorry to hear about your brother, and the operation he faces, but if it will mean that he will be free of the cancer then at least that's a silver lining. I wish him a speedy and least painful recovery possible..

It's after 7pm and the day has gone easy, I have relaxed and dozed, so I am ready for another weekend of work at the dacha, we are going on the late train tomorrow evening after Lisa gets home from work. I will precook some food again for our meals while we are there, which is until next Monday.
On Tuesday we go on the planned 5 day trip to Pereslavl-Zalesskiy in the south about 150Km from Moscow, 900 Km in total, it involves the 5am high speed train from here to Moscow, then a 2.5 hour bus journey, we will also visit the ancient city of Rostov while we are in that region. We are both looking forward to a break from our busy time in the country [IMG]

I hope your day is going well ......... here are a few paintings involving candlelight.........

While I am working in the dacha I play music on the laptop from a playlist I have made, I often work to music finding it relaxing................. one particular track by Hans Zimmer from the movie "The Thin Red Line" always captures my attention when it plays, particularly from 3:50 to 6:00 minutes, I am somehow transported to a beautiful serene place, the video is lovely as well.

Good morning everyone, I'm back from my daughter's and the eighth grade grandsons graduation. Couldn't be prouder....he got the top student award. That goes to someone's who never got below an A in all subjects in junior high!

I had tears in my eyes I was so happy and proud. They were already forming when Pomp and Circumstance was played. He also won the award for top math student. He may be the smartest of the 5 and he does it all on his own and without effort. He's such a great kid!!

The weather was nice there compared to Fresno but on the windy side.

Today I have to get some food, a good day to pick up the greens we talked about before I left...no MUSTARD greens though @Bobby Cole.

Also, welcome @Nancy Hart to the forum..Ate you the Nancy from SF?

Also just remembered to order my magnesium @Don Alaska

Sorry to read about your brother @Terry Page.
