Keep in mind that these are college students, not kindergarteners.

Unbelievable!! We had an Outing Club in the same area in college. Maybe there were lawsuits or threats....

You don't suppose this had anything to do with it, do you?
Penn State still will offer a university-operated outdoors trip program, Powers said. The university-run program also costs much more for students, Waltz contended.

I am very sure that there are a few Eagle Scouts in the Pennsylvania State's alumni who will probably have something to say in the way of a monetary medium................

This made me so sad and angry. We lived in State College from 1973-74 while hubs was in grad school. One of my best memories is the two of us canoeing around a mountain lake. Of course, there were no cell phones then, so I guess if something had happened, according to Penn State's logic, we would have just had to stay there and die. But we did manage to survive. This kind of thinking is making kids even snowflakier than they already are. Maybe Penn State will let them color pictures of the outdoors instead. Ridiculous!
