Thanks for the explanation, Ken. I must admit that I'm a bit confused about the time difference. I've heard people talking about it when they needed to contact people in the US urgently on business that they would have to take the time lag into account and hardly found a time which would suit both sides.

By the way, I was asking myself what time is actually displayed on the forum? Is that US time? East or west coast?

Sounds to me as though you almost never sleep. Shouldn't you be taking a bit more care of yourself especially after a long working life working the graveyard shift? Yet once the body is used to it, it'll take time for the internal clock to adapt or it never will. On the other hand, IT work as such and retirement allow you to be flexible.

While I'm talking to you, something crossed my mind yesterday. In this very thread I edited some typos and later read your OT-thread about the time you can offer for editing. You fixed that to 24 hours and I appreciated that like many others posting in your thread. Yesterday, though, when I wanted to edit a post of mine after some hours I realized that it was no longer possible. Did you have to shorten the time allowed for editing again? How long is it now?

My assumption has always been that it would display time according to whatever time zone you chose in Preferences, as there is no such forum-wide preference.

I think it's set for two hours. I don't recall setting it for twenty-four hours.

Thanks, Ken, for the reply. I was just having trouble recalling where I might have read that. It was not in the OT thread but here in the Help Request one:
Anyway, it has been changed now and it's just good to know that you have two hours now, which is fine.
