I have a wallet which is usually in one of my bigger purses but can be found in my smaller shoulder bags too. I keep my wallet which contains my money, credit and debit card, Health Insurance card, Driver's License, etc neat and tidy so that when I check out at a store's register all I need to do is pull out my wallet and take out of it whatever I'm paying with. Most of the time I take out my means of payment while they tallying up my bill and hold that in my hand and my wallet stays in my purse.

Because I carry a lot of things like @Holly Saunders does my purse is usually a nice size one. Yet if I'm going to a "dress up" occasion I will downsize to one of my much smaller shoulder bags. I can't imagine just carrying a wallet or what used to be called a clutch bag for everyday use because everything I need would definitely not fit in either of these things. I often have a book, or my latest copy of Reader's Digest, or a small Crosswork puzzle book, etc. in my purse too...especially when I'm taking my husband to see one of his Doctors, etc. And I always keep a bottle of water and sometimes a small gatorade in my purse too.

It amazes me that men can just carry a wallet in their back pockets usually...and have everything they need. :)

Not sure how other men get by, but I stash stuff I need for the day
    all over the place.

Locker at work is full of battery chargers, tablet, etc.
I have the same type of stuff in the car. charging cords, etc.

When I go out and about, it's just my wallet, phone, keys, pocket knife and
and handkerchief. 4 pants pockets, problem solved.

If I need something else, I'll do without or just buy it.

Speaking of purses, I am one of the best 'Purse Guards' around.
It's my job to guard the purse sitting in the shopping cart while the wife wanders about the store.:)

I don't. But I don't have a lot. I use my faux fur and vinyl one in the winter, purchased at Ross about 15 years ago and a pink purse in the summer I got at the thrift store. I look at the purses when I go to PAWS especially.

I also have some thrift vintage wallets. I got a wallet at Sears new (before they closed the one in my town) with that RFID protection. If I want to use my other wallets I guess I'll have to get one of those protection sleeves.

I'm a bit picky with wallets. They have to have the compartments a certain way. A easy way to access just the money I want to use without opening the area where my cards etc are.

I hope you are happy with your wallet when you get it.

I am like @Holly Saunders with the big handbag. It all started with my firstborn, the second and third.o_O When I switched to a smaller handbag I ended up carrying two, not good with three little ones at your feet. It didn't stop after they were grown either - there was always something that I felt I needed to carry with me 'just in case'. When I asked Johnny to bring my bag to me he asked 'Man what do you have in this thing?' more than once. Everyone at work would always ask me 'if I had this that or the other' and sure enough I had it.

Shoulder pain occurred mostly before I started driving because walking and public transportation were the only modes of getting to and from places. :( Now I toss my bag in the backseat or in the grocery carts when I shop. I don't worry about thieves because I don't keep enough money in it to worry about being robbed.;)

Same here Von...hubs always asks me if I've got a brick in my bag...but like you I always have everything that I need or anyone else might need in it.. and they usually do. I too just throw my bag in the back of the car and on the hook of the supermarket trolley ... but when I'm walking through town, I have to admit it does feel heavy, and sometimes I get my husband to carry it lol...

Like you @Babs Hunt , if I'm going out in the evening I decant just the necessary things for the evening into a much smaller bag...

@Kitty Carmel I couldn't get by with just 2 or 3 bags...I have one in every colour and size... I'm not kidding... I like to match whatever I'm wearing. I have too many really, even after donating a load of almost new ones to the charity shop.. I think I still have over 50...

My wife hauls around a duffle bag that she calls a purse. I can barely lift it and it takes her hours to find anything in it. Okay, I might be exaggerating just a bit, but she never takes me up on my offer to arrange her purse for her by taking out the stuff she doesn't need.

On wallets, I keep hoping to find one that will fit my cards and still allow me to carry it in my back pocket.

My o/h has the same problem Ken...he ikes a wallet to be small enough to fit in his pocket without the top part showing and with enough space to carry all his cards.. and it has to be soft leather, we have trouble getting them here so we always end up having to buy them in Spain...

Due to the Cards that go in my wallet, no longer carry pictures of family.
Those are on my phone if anyone wishes to see them.

Since the digital age, I need to carry more plastic cards to get by daily.

1 debit card, 1 Credit card (others locked in safe at home ), drivers license, Military ID, VA medical card,
Retired Military medical card, Library card, and whatever cash my wife allows me to have.

Back in the day, my wallet had old receipts, notes about pipe layouts, phone numbers ( with
maybe a first name, maybe not...), and misc. junk.

I can get it in my pocket with minor discomfort now.

I'm glad I'm not around when Johnny pulls out his wallet. Oh the thoughts that people may have when they see it.

I no longer carry a wallet in my hip pocket. For a coupple of years I carried a credit card, DL, VA card, and Library card, along with what money I had in my left front pocket with a rubber band around them. Started using the front after losing my wallet to a pick-pocket at Balboa Park in San Diego. To my knowledge I left all that on the counter of a seven eleven store on 34th street in Lubbock, Tx. Still using the card holder for a wallet. In cleaning out my dest the other day I did find another Spanish wallet, never used, and as I was dressing the other morning I transferred all my stuff from the card holder to the little wallet and stuck it in my back pocket. It seemed unnatural so I switched to my from pocket and finally put everything back into my card holder. I too keep looking for that perfect wallet. I often think one of these trifold wallets might work best but when it's loaded expect it too would be too think. My son carries a , what would call it, a man-purse or a manage? He carries it everywhere. It seems small but adequate. Sometime he has in that bag what I myself need when I go out. If I'm going to be out any length of time I need to carry with me my albuterol puffer, that's a recovery medication for folks with copd or asthma. I like to carry a small, leather encased magnifying glass to read the small print. I like to have a note pad and pen or pencil. I generally carry a harmonica with me, and sometime a critical medication if the need should arise. Maybe a over the shoulder or over the neck type of bag would work. And finally, I don't know why I am still obcessed with this wallet thing, except I carry an extra credit crd, a Phillips 66 gas card, a medicare card, a Triple A card, in case I have car problems when I'm out and about, two AMO Intraocular Lens cards stating Lens Implant ID information, and a Medtronic Coronary Stent Implant Card. Is all that necessary? I don't know, I carry it and sometime think a slightly larger bag would be a good thing, maybe a good loooking small purse.

When I get around to it I'll take a pic of my purse and wallet....I can barely stand the small purse I do have and am always ridding it of coins.

I found it online....this is it but I removed the gorilla.

It's pretty small....my iPhone 7 fits perfectly in the first zippered compartment. Middle compartment will hold my sun glasses and lipstick and a few other things....last compartment has my coach wallet and my car keys.
