Good evening to you all from St.Peter, we have been on a 6 day vacation to the Czech Republic, not Croatia as I think someone mentioned ;) (though we have been there some years ago).
We hired a car and drove around the south of the country which is called Bohemia. The weather was gorgeous sunny and 23c (70s f) every day. We spent our last day (yesterday) in Prague, which was sadly the only cloudy day, but we enjoyed the town anyway. We flew back to St.Petersburg late last night, and eventually got to bed at 2am.
Lisa was up at 7am to prepare for Katya and her children's arrival this afternoon, for half term.
    .
It's been a very busy day and we just had dinner together, (photo below), we are a full house here tonight, but I am leaving for home tomorrow evening, so Lisa can spend a week with her family, without me getting in the way. ;)

Sorry, I shouldn't have said anything. I just knew you were on a trip and too lazy to look back at the posts as to exactly what country.

    Good morning everyone.
took time to do some fishing yesterday. I caught 3 bass and 2 crappie. That's enough to make a good meal for the two of us.

It's supposed to be a rainy weekend here and when I opened the blinds after having my morning cup of coffee and sweet treat I could already tell that sometime during the night we have already gotten some of that rain. Since we are just going to rest up this weekend it can rain all it wants and it won't bother us at all. :)

We had such a wonderful day with our youngest grandkids yesterday. I brought my camera and had hoped to take lots of pictures but found I never even got a chance to take that camera out of my purse. I left our house at 6:15am to go to my daughter's house so I could be there for the kids while my son-in-law got ready for work. When I walked in the door my son-in-law was in his recliner rocking his 1 year old son. He woke up at 4am wanting his Mom and since she wasn't there he wasn't to happy and his dad had been trying to get him back to sleep for a couple of hours. I made our grandson a bottle and rocked him back to sleep...but he wouldn't let me put him back in his bed...so I rocked him and sang him a few songs until daylight came in the windows. Our granddaughter had also awakened during the night and wanted her Mom. She wasn't to happy not to find her there either and ended up wetting the bed and crying herself back to sleep. They love their dad but this is the first time their mom has ever been away from them overnight and we knew they would probably have a little trouble with this.

Anyway my son-in-law got ready for work and left and when the kids woke up again they both were in better moods and were at peace with me being with them. I made them some grits with eggs, cheese, and bacon bits in it for breakfast and at 9:30am I packed them in their car seats in my car and we went to pick up Papaw at our house. Then the fun begin. Papaw and I took them outside and let them play and jump in the leaves that were in piles until they just were to tired to go anymore. Then while they came in and I fixed them a drink and snack, they sat down and watched Mickey Mouse reruns. :) After that it was morning nap time for our grandson so with another bottle of milk and some rocking he was out in no time and this time he didn't even notice when I put him in his bed.

Our granddaughter went back outside and with her very own size rake that we had brought her, she helped her Papaw rake some more of those leaves. Mean while this Granny was inside starting another gumbo (which my son-in-law had asked me to make) and potato salad. In between this I put some laundry to wash and folded what was already in the dryer and then did some picking up and making up beds. A woman's work is just never done. :)

We had a wonderful day with our grandkids and they enjoyed the time with us too. At around 4pm my son-in-law came home with a pumpkin he had promised his daughter he would bring her to carve. She was so full of joy that he remembered! And he was so thankful supper was all cooked and thanks to Papaw alot of yard work was done too. We shared supper and visited for awhile and then a very tired but happy Granny and Papaw drove home. And Granny never even realized until she got home....that she had not taken one picture the whole day except in her mind. :) No pictures but lots of wonderful memories to cherish were made yesterday. And thankfulness at having them all home in Lafayette with us once again.

Hey @Terry Page , I’ve missed seeing your choices in the art world, and without hearing about your and Lisa’s travels, I’ve felt so stuck in my small world.

Of course it was my fault. I couldn’t get my iPad to stay logged into SOC until Ken told me about something called a cache. I hadn’t cleared mine in over two years, mainly because I didn’t even know what a cache was, much less that I even had one. But you can bet I’ve cleared it about every three days since, mainly so I’ll get use to how to do it.

Hi @Sheldon Scott , I can’t eat fish, but I do love to fish and cook them. I fix a lot of salmon, tilapia, and bass, but I don’t think I’ve seen crappie in our stores down here. How do you fix them?

Afternoon @Babs Hunt , it does sound like you had a wonderful day with your grandbabies. It also sounds like you and your hubby showed up at the right time to help your SIL deal with the mommy of the house being gone from two little ones that didn’t understand why.

I’m sure your SIL appreciated not having to cook and clean when he got home from work. Especially after so little sleep the night before. I know your reward was being able to see the pleasure on his face. Plus you got to enjoy being the busy granny and papaw all day long.

I bet all five of you slept well. :)

    Good morning everyone. :)

@Ina I. Wonder Yes, a grand time was had by us all. Today my daughter will be back with her spirit renewed and her energy refreshed. It's good to have some time for your self every once in awhile...but it's always good to come home again too. :)

We should see more rain today but we actually did not get as much rain yesterday as was predicted and the sun was out for a good part of the afternoon too. It's getting cooler here and really starting to feel like Fall for part of the day now which makes it nice when we are spending time outdoors. :)

Whatever each of you are doing today...I hope it brings smiles to your hearts. Enjoy!

Good morning from sunny Worcester, there was no sign of Storm Brian when I arrived last night, it was dry and calm and fairly mild, I presume it all happened on Friday here.
I am still in bed at 9:00 am slowly surfacing with the help of coffee, opening a pile of post which is pretty much all junk mail [IMG] ................ enjoy your Sunday [IMG]

Good morning to you all, I am actually up having drank three coffees in bed ...(well in a mug really [IMG]) .....to get me up and running, it's a grey dreary looking morning at 13c.
I have to sort out the car today, since it's been standing on the driveway while I was in Russia, two tyres have gone flat, one is brand new the other pretty worn. Cathy did inflate the new one a week ago but it has gone flat again, so a slow puncture of some sort.

Enjoy your Monday I will post a few paintings by John Waterhouse below.....

John William Waterhouse RA (6 April 1849 – 10 February 1917) was an English painter known for working in the Pre-Raphaelite style. He worked several decades after the breakup of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, which had seen its heyday in the mid-nineteenth century, leading to his sobriquet "the modern Pre-Raphaelite".[1] Borrowing stylistic influences not only from the earlier Pre-Raphaelites but also from his contemporaries, the Impressionists,[1] his artworks were known for their depictions of women from both ancient Greek mythology and Arthurian legend.

Born in Italy to English parents who were both painters, he later moved to London, where he enrolled in the Royal Academy of Art. He soon began exhibiting at their annual summer exhibitions, focusing on the creation of large canvas works depicting scenes from the daily life and mythology of ancient Greece. Later on in his career he came to embrace the Pre-Raphaelite style of painting despite the fact that it had gone out of fashion in the British art scene several decades before.

Although not as well known as earlier Pre-Raphaelite artists such as Dante Gabriel Rossetti, John Everett Millais and William Holman Hunt, Waterhouse's work is currently displayed at several major British art galleries, and the Royal Academy of Art organised a major retrospective of his work in 2009.

Good morning to you all, it's a blustery but warmish one here at 16c, I woke at 8am pretty late for me, slept well but feel kind of flat today, hopefully I will rise and shine later.

I have to get a photo for my Russian visa today and post my passport and application form, then make an appointment to have my fingerprints taken yet again, (in case they have changed since last year) [IMG] ..... which means a trip to London for a 15 minute appointment [IMG]

Enjoy your day............here are a few paintings and a video of a contemporary Japanese watercolour painter Kanta Harusaki

Here is a video of the artist creating a painting, (it's in 4 parts) I found it interesting as a non artist but though he makes it look easy, I could imagine getting into a mess very quickly [IMG]
