Again, I do not care what people do with their own personal "property". Folks can dress up, make up, throw the heels on or not or go behind closed doors and go totally nude and do whatever they wish. If they have the cash and want a change so be it. I really, really do not care.

What I DO care about is when folks like Jenner and others decide that I have to acknowledge and moreover give somebody a pat on the back and a kiss on the cheek because they made a step, a huge step mind you, but nevertheless just a step with THEIR OWN lives. I do not wish to learn nor am I going to learn new pronouns because somebody's feelings will be hurt if I do not. It's either Mr., Miss or Mrs. and maybe Ms but that's about as far as I am going to go.

And lastly, but certainly not the least, I want gay to mean happy again and I want my derned rainbow back.

Ok, I've got an extremely good question for those that "accept" (tolerate?) the GLBT community..........

How does someone learn to accept? My faith tells me "no", at least that's what I'm told. I guess if it (GLBT) wasn't pushed so much, it could be easier to accept. I just don't know.

But the Bible says a lot of things that aren't really right or even done in today's world. Seems some pick and choose what they want or have an excuse for something that doesn't sound right.

Treating women like crap is in it I think...so you agree with that? Or do you just say that was okay at the time?

I'd love to see someone who actually follows the Bible to a T exactly how it's written...not your interpretation of it.

I think that we are meant to apply what we read in the Bible to our own lives, and not to someone else's. The Bible PLAINLY says not to judge; so that tells me that I need only be concerned about my own life and behaviour, and not judge someone else for their lifestyle. If I am upset by what another person is doing, then I pray for them because I care about them, not because I am trying to tell that person how to live their life.
There are so many different religious beliefs (even just within the Christian denominations), and each one of those believes that the others are all wrong.
As @Billie Lane said, we need to accept each other and try our best to get along, even when they believe differently than we do.
I think it is wrong for anyone to try and push their beliefs on someone else.

Don't know where you get that about women in the Bible. Do know that Mary Magdalene, a prostitute, who repented and was forgiven, became a disciple and follower of Jesus. There were other women that followed him as well and spread his Word.

That's one of the major problems with "today's world", not enough of the Bible is wanted or even thought about.

I think it's Babs that really knows the Bible, if she could "chime in" on this.

Tell this (in red) to Kaitlyn Jenner, Chaz Bono and some others who try and force it on us. "Believe or Accept" or you're not American.

As far as "judging" goes, people have to judge to be friends with the right kind of people. Would you be friends with drug users or dealers, gang members, or..........
This is why "judging" is ok.

    Yep - agree with that
I have no problem with people being the way they want to be, just don't shove it in 'my' face, because it probably won't be to my taste

Out of curiosity, who really wants to be kind, caring and understanding today? Only kidding, but seriously, to find someone with all three, can be tough. Not that many out there. If there was, our world would be in much better shape than it is.

    @Cody Fousnaugh

    Isnt this in the Bible?

    • Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says. If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church. - 1 Corinthians 14
    And:

    • Let a woman learn in silence with all submissiveness. I permit no woman to teach or to have authority over men; she is to keep silent. - 1 Tim 2
I'm sure there are plenty others.

I don't even like to see heterosexual couples getting all passionate in public but doesn't mean I can't accept them. :)

I'm just tolerant of other people's beliefs...doesn't mean I even understand them. I come from a very white, straight family and we don't have anybody that's not straight, don't even have anybody biracial in my family and if I can be tolerant then others can too.

Plus, our generation is dying out and the future will be different....it already is in many respects. You can hold onto your beliefs and miss out on some nice people or you can keep them...I'm so tolerant I don't care about that either, haha.

Well, since I looked this up in my Men's Bible and those verses are right there, don't know what to say. Called my wife and, because she is at work, couldn't really explain the verses to me except to say "that's right". But, I'm sure, actually without a doubt, that even those verses could be/are interpreted differently than written.

That's the problem I see...if it doesn't fit then it's interpreted differently. I'm not a Bible exPert at all but just googled it.

They wouldn't get passionate in front of me Chrissy
Respect each other's space (that should be in the Bible too)

Funny, but that (in red) got me into trouble on the SF about smoking. We don't like being around, or associating with smokers, and I got a good "lashing" from some folks for saying that.

    Baby Boomers dying out???????

But, we are being made, or told to, tolerate, even accept, certain ways of life.......lot different than given a choice.

We watched the movie about Liberace (Behind the Candelabra), starring Michael Douglas/Liberace and Matt Damon as his lover. We really didn't think there would be scenes in the movie that were disgusting, but there sure were.
Seeing two men or two women doing a "wedding kiss" is sickening to us. We don't even want to think about our own Great Niece sleeping with a woman, but it's true.

It can be really hard for some straight people to really understand what goes on today.

The Biblical text for a woman's position in relation to man ( 1 Cor. 11:3) has been misused since it came into print.
When I teach or lecture on the subject, it says that man is the head of the woman but the rest of the Bible indicates that the woman is the heart.
If one were to read the 31st chapter of Proverbs or the Song of Solomon and really read them, there would be no confusion. Further, Eve was created to be a "help mate" and doesn't say anything about being anything less.

    Hope that helps.....blessings....
