A snake is a symbol of the number 8 but when encountered in a dream, soothsayers say that the snake brings good luck or good tidings. And when the snake appears ferocious or in a manner to strike you, that is definitely a bad omen of things to come.

I remember the olden days when there was this numbers game called Jueteng where your 1 peso bet could win a thousand pesos if you guess the 2 numbers. The usual bet of the number 8 is because of that dream about a snake. What's funny is, that bet does not win.

Have you ever dreamed that someone close to you had died? As per the tradition of putting meaning to dreams, the person who died in your dream would have a good health in the days to come and will be safe from harm like accidents. But when the one who died in your dream is just an acquaintance, someone close to you will be leaving you, emotionally if not physically. And when it is you who was dying (or had died) in your dream, something is wrong with your body, an internal organ is not functioning well.

I used to have the same dream for the longest time. I was always at school, trying to open my locker and I could never remember the combination. Or, the books that I needed for the next class were missing. These dreams were always in Jr. High School. When I started caring for my mother, I got a phone call from the University of Phoenix, we talked for a while, and I had told them that I could afford to pay for my education because I was not working. She told me that I didn't have to pay until after I finish my course, well, guess what, I enrolled with them and got my AA in Criminal Justice, I continue on to get my MS also in Criminal Justice. Those dreams that I was having never came back. I thought about the reason why I was having these dreaming and I came up with my own conclusion. I was not a good student in school, I was lucky to have graduate from both Jr. and High school. Looking back, I kept kicking myself, as to why did I do that, now the years have gone by and there is nothing I could. When I started with UoP, things change, I was going to be a better student and I was going to prove to me that I was capable of doing anything I set my mind to. Well, I did, and I'm very proud of me. Now I keep having dreams of elevators and others that I can't seem to remember.

:oops:I have not dreamed of snakes or the number 8 ever yet. I've dreamed running away from something ferocious, dreamt of being totally alone in a cowboy like setting with mountains or dessert like terrain too. Once I even dreamed that my Grandpa was cooking a panda, yes a panda in those large cooking pots that you see in school cafeterias and I was to watch it and as soon it boils I was to summoned Grandpa. The pot cove moved and fell off and the panda came out and as the panda right in front of me tried to touch me with it's paw to my nose I wake up! I felt so exhausted after this dream.

Those are examples of typical anxiety dreams. For many years I used to dream of sitting an exam at school that I had never studied for. Later my anxiety dreams became work related or featured much loved pets. We dream of a situation that makes us anxious when there is something troubling us and causing anxiety in real life. In my case these dreams returned at different times in my life when I was experiencing difficulties. They happen much less often now that I am feeling more secure in life.

Rachel, yes anxiety...that reminds me of one of my dreams a while back. It's funny now but at the time it was frightening. I was due to have an operation to remove a little spot of cancer in my uterus.

Before my appt. I dreamt that I was all ready for surgery and laying on the table. The doctor walks over to me. I look down and he's wearing flip-flops ….haha… but in my dream I was panicked because I realized that he was less than professional and now it was too late to back out.

In my dreams, I am almost always moving from one place to another, packing boxes and clothes and furniture from one place to another, often in some kind of a pickup truck.
I even have houses that seem to reappear from dream to dream (but do not exist in real life).
I remember just recently carrying boxes from a house to another house just up the hill from the first one, and I recognised it.
I was thinking in my dream , "why am I moving back there ? I just moved out of there and down to this house not very long ago ! "

Last evening I was really craving a beer. So, I decided that in the morning I would go to the store and just get a 40 oz. bottle. I've been on the wagon and don't want to get too crazy.
Well, last night as I slept, I dreamed I was going to a store and something happened to me. So, here I am this morning, refusing to go anywhere today.

haha…divine intervention I call it. Happens all the time with me and sweets. One time, around 1980, I prayed and asked God to help me not eat sweets. Soon after my prayer I just couldn't control the craving so I made 2 chocolate pudding pies (i had a family to cook for too hehe). I put each pie on the palm of my hands once they cooled and was transporting them from one counter to the other when they, for no reason, both flipped upside down onto the floor. All I could do was say thank you God through my tears lol
