Perhaps in reality, the Earth is flat, but has no thickness. As does a theoretical Planar Surface. OTOH, reality suggests it must have thickness, to have finite, rather than zero, mass. This leads me to think thatif the Earth is flat, it is in the form of a cube. Frank

The reason that I posted this thread in the History & Geography section, was because it concerns the World view of our geography, history and all our maps. One of the books that our Daughter got for my Wife for Christmas, was "The Bible Atlas" (ironically by Global Book Publishing). She is reading on "Creation And The Fall", and she shared the opening paragraph with me. I want to share it with you. "Ancient readers would have recognized that the neat division of Creation into six divine days signified that the world was carefully designed and imbued with order.. The literary pattern of "command, fulfillment, inspection, and approval" amounts to a royal building inscription. God, acting as sovereign, consecrates a virginal spot from which to construct a shrine (Genesis 1:1-3), Replete with dome (1:6-8), floor (earth), sacred pool (seas), supplies (1:11-12, 20-25), ritual calendar (1:14-19), and a "staff" (1:26-31), architecturally, the cosmos is a temple, whose human personnel are consecrated to be its priests". I like that picture of our world.
NASA Opens Exhibit On 50th Anniversary Of Apollo 1 Fire This photograph shows Apollo 1's Command Module a day after the fire that took the lives of astronauts Lt. Col. Virgil "Gus" Ivan Grissom, Lt. Col. Edward Higgins White II, and Lt. Cdr. Roger Bruce Chaffee. The Command Module was taken to the White Room at Launch Complex 34. The intense heat of the flash fire has clearly affected the exterior. The Wife and Son of Gus Grissom, have always believed that he was murdered, along with Ed White & Rodger Chaffee. Grissom was slated to command the first moon landing.
I have read this same thing, and I think that it is quite probable, and was a definite message to the other Astro-nots to keep secret what really happened on the supposed moon missions. The pictures that they show and the videos, these people certainly seemed glum for being the only people ever to set foot on the moon.
