The footage shows awful track - that works! - on a model railroad featuring 90's era CSX. Two main segments are shown - handlaid yard trackage, and a mainline attempt at realistic jointed rail.

Model Railroad Hobbyist Ken Patterson's modeling buddies got a crazy streak and started putting together modules out in Ken's sloping back yard in an attempt to get a platform to run trains and photograph them with an outdoor backdrop. Watch as they use lawn chairs, pieces of wood - whatever they can find to jerry-rig support for the modules. Did they succeed? Watch and see for yourself.

Certain I started a thread about my hobby, but could not go back far enough (see question, "My Content" in Help), but cannot resist, after re-reading this whole thread.

About 75% complete, weight total, 1400 lbs., engine 1000 lbs. Build time 7 years, to this point. Every part scratch-built with no pre-made castings used. Model of Chicago, Burlington, and Quincy's famed steam excursion engine, which took me & high school buddies Chicago to Galesburg (Illinois) September 6, 1959, one of the most memorable trips in the "Q"s excursion history.

Fall, 2009, running on propane on the 750 foot track I laid across the road from our farmhouse in MO. My wife took the pic off our front porch with one of those now-obsolete "throw-away" cameras. Guy in the pic above is a "grub" I asked to pose, for purpose of size indication. Frank

I posted the answer on the other thread, but repeating it again here, where I should have posted it. Here is your older thread about the train that you made, @Frank Sanoica .
To find the older threads that you started, go to the search function at the top right side of the page, put in the topic (trains in this case) and then the person who contributed to the thread if you are looking for a specific person's posts.
Here is the thread about the train; but you will have to scroll the the last post.

@Frank Sanoica its not good to put yourself down like that ,we are all, birds of a feather here ..we are all... well ....... as old as we feel..... Some days i feel like a 100 year old "looks" and other days i can walk 6-7 km without a worry.
You and everyone else on here are valuable members who all make up a team to make this all possible for us all to enjoy

I d like to post a photo of me on here, but i have to ask ken about it first as id like to have it deleted after a day or so ,due to the worry about lurkers / scammers

I think we have up to a day to edit a post, @Kate Ellery ; so there is no reason that you can't include the picture, and then delete it yourself after a few hours and everyone has had a chance to see it. I have seen other people post a picture and then delete it again; so it is totally acceptable to do that if you decide to do it.
Another way would be to use it in your avatar, and then change the avatar after a day or so, since you can change that anytime, unlike posts, which can only be edited for a day at best.

Deciding to show our image online or not, is a personal choice, and should be respected.

I'm about to begin building this 130-foot O-Scale 2-Rail layout in my Game Room.

The track and lumber will cost about $700, but I already have my freight train.

I personally would need more clearance at the corners of the pool table. In my own basement, after I set up a regulation size table, I found I needed a "short stick" to negotiate shots where about three feet existed between the rail and wall.

Nice layout, though! I envy you.
