I live alone and usually do my own meal preparation, but the last few weeks I have been experimenting with what seems to be a burgeoning business of ordering meals on line. One is GRUBHUB that mainly delivers to your front door from eateries in your zip code area. They show you the menu offerings, prices, etc. Last week I had a Japanese Sea Food Bento Box which included sushi & sashimi for $21 US delivered within one hour from the time I ordered. It was just a little more than if I walked into the Japanese restaurant, but it was just as good and how convenient. Today I received via FED EX a boxed in dry ice variety of six meals that I purchased on line three days ago at a introductory price of $ 49US for the six meals. The meals are all frozen and must be thawed. Lamb Stew, Beef Stroganoff, Egg Plant Lasagna were three of the meals. The company is Silver Cuisine.
Check them out online. The pictures of their meals is mouth watering but we'll see how they taste. Last month I had several meals from a company called Freshly which was pretty good and averaged about eight dollars per meal. I think I will buy a few shares of stock in a couple of these companies. BTW The quality of what I have had so far is so much better than the old Frozen Food meals we get from the super market.

Seems like they are expensive meals but probably not as expensive as eating out and it is convenient. Good though if you are under the weather and not able to prepare your own.

Just not for me....I like to see exactly what goes into my food and the only way I can ensure that is to DIY

If the Piccadilly Cafeteria or Golden Corral Buffet over here had delivery, I would be ordering our healthy meals from them quite often. As it is lately I have been considering making a trip once or twice a week to Piccadilly to order a couple of their "vegetable" plates to go. A stop for a rotisserie chicken and some fish I could bake along with a simple starch and some fresh fruit would probably cost about the same that I'm paying now for our food bill. Add a bag of salad greens to that order too.

There is one service I've seen advertised where you order meals and they send you all the fresh ingredients but you still end up cooking the meal yourself. I can't remember the name of it right now but I remember when I saw the commercial for this I thought some people might enjoy this...especially if they enjoy trying new things and cooking. I don't enjoy cooking to much now that I'm 66 so I try to keep things as simple as possible unless I'm really in the mood to be in the kitchen.

Ren Tanner... have you tried using a crock pot..they even have small ones now. Just dump your stuff in, add some seasonings..in a few hours you have dinner :) You could freeze what you don't want to finish .

Uber has been signing up thousands of eateries across the country to deliver food that you have ordered, right to your door.

I can pick from dozens of eateries in my town and Uber will deliver for a flat $3.99, That's less than what you would probably tip if you went out to have the same meal.

Download the UBEREATS app on your smart phone to see what's available in your area.

Where we live, using Uber Eats and Grubhub just about covers the restaurants in our area.
So far the food and service has been excellent.
The delivery fee is reasonable and I don't have to get dressed up.

Love the stuff, although there is some debate about where it originated. Usually a couple times a month for me.

I find it quite liberating in a nasal kind of way.

Grandpa is hosting thanksgiving dinner at his new home
I am pleased and delighted that I can host 17 members of my family for a traditional Thanksgiving Dinner at my new residence. The dinner will be held in the PRIVATE DINING ROOM at Oakmont that can accomodate 25 people. In years past my deceased wife would do the Thanksgiving Dinner or I would be a guest of a family member.
