I have found the most interesting book, and it is about these ancient "high-civilizations' and written by an archeoligist that has an interesting point of view. I think that anyone here who has a love for archeology would be interested in reading this book, and especially you, @Joe Riley .
The book is called "Dead Men's Secrets" and it is written by Jonathan Grey.
I have just started reading this book, and I already didn't want to put it down and have to go to bed last night.......it is that interesting !

We have talked about what would happen to society if there were a bad war (nuclear or otherwise), or a large asteroid hitting the earth, or even something like an EMP or the Yellowstone caldera erupting; any significant disaster that wiped out most of the earth's population rapidly.
what would happen with the people who are left ? Even though we understand about modern technology, we would have no way to re-create it because the basic things (like electricity) would be gone.
I think it was Albert Einstein that said he didn't know what WW3 would be fought with, but the one over that would be fought with sticks and stones; so this thought of a lost highly develoooped civilization has been around for a while.

Carrying that thought a step further, what if this would not be the first time for something to wipe out almost all of the human population, and the remnants had to start over ? This would explain how what we call "early man" was able to do things that we still can't explain or do even as advanced as we are.
Even the Bible states that God told man to "multiply and REPLENISH the earth". To replenish something, it had to be there before and was somehow lost.
The book is on Amazon, but I found a PDF version that I downloaded to my iPad (free) and stored in my iBooks and I am reading it with the Mini.
There are also youtube tapes about Jonathan Grey and his findings; but I have not watched any of those yet.

I have been reading Jonathan Gray’s book (still not finished, but getting closer) and the more I read it, the more I am intrigued with what the ancient people in all of the earth were able to accomplish.
There is a magazine called Ancient American, and I am contemplating getting a subscription for that. It is about double the cost ($40) to get the magazine subscription as it is to get the pdf one ($17):but I would like to have an actual magazine, so I am still mulling this one over.
I noticed that Dr. Gray has been on Coast to Coast AM at least once in the past, and here is a link to that show.
Since this refers back to a lot of the early Native Americans, this is something that I really think that you would also be interested in, @Ina I. Wonder .
