    I've been posting in the wrong thread!

    Parmesan Chicken, lemon-parsley potatoes, and English peas.

    BTW does anyone know what they call English peas in England?

    No I don't know what English people call their peas. Supper tonight will probably be fish and mashed potatoes with canned beets. We have to be frugal living in Hawaii one of the most expensive places to live on Earth. Thankfully there is a Walmart, CVS, Walgreens and Safeway $5 Fridays! Supper is usually fish or chicken on Fridays. We are watching our sugar and cholesterol at my home so we watch what we consume all the time! There's sugar free ice cream these day's, but we only get Butter Pecan or Vanilla. I hope they expand their sugar free ice cream varieties so we can enjoy more flavors of ice cream. I love Rocky Road ice cream with walnuts not almonds, so I hope Rocky Road is a flavor that will become sugar free ice cream variety soon! Have a fun weekend!

    I eat peas with honey,
    I've done it all my life.
    It does taste kind of funny,
    but it keeps them on my knife!

    Are all carpenters in Finland, finish carpenters?:confused:

    Let me contribute our dinner/supper for tonight. It is a special weekend not because of the date but because of our dish - Menudo. This is a dish of pork meat and pork liver stewed in red tomatoes and soy sauce. It is a special dish and we only cook it on occasions particularly Christmas. But this time it is a whim because I miss the dish. After the stewing, the pork is sauteed and fried in margarine before putting back in the pot of stew. Menudo is one of my favorite dishes.

    It is best eaten with butter toast and soda. Oops, there goes my diet.

    I gave it a try, since it's a popular dish in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas too, and because I usually like Mexican food, but I don't care for menudo at all. Or chorizo, for that matter. My wife does.

    That sounds so good, Shel! Last night, we had mac & cheese, with green peas and grilled sweet sausage. Had banana pudding with whipped cream for dessert. Simple, but delicious!;)

    Last night, my Wife made a delicious beef stew, using a tender chuck roast, home grown potatoes, baby carrots, onions & onion soup mix. A few slices of buttered bread to sop up the dark rich gravy. Fruit cocktail for dessert.

    Yesterday I made vegetable beef soup. A pound of stew meat (I cut into smaller pieces), a can of beef broth, salt and black pepper were the only ingredients bought from the grocery. From our garden I added potatoes, carrots, corn, green beans, tomatoes, okra, bay leaves, oregano, and basil.

    Oops, we also had store bought crackers. It's hard to have a meal without something from the store but we do the best we can.

    Thanks, Joe. I might try these someday but all the ingredients still come from the store. Do you know a source of cracker seeds so I can grow my own?:D

    "Cracker seeds" started me thinking about all of the various crackers that are on the market and then my mind traveled to the garden. So, I looked up vegetable crackers and believe it or not there has to be about a hundred links with recipes for garden based crackers.
    Not only are there vegetable cracker recipes but juicer pulp recipes as well. I do believe I know at least one thing I will be doing when the cold sets in for the winter. Heating up the oven and making crackers!

    But, of course they will be a good mate for just about anything except as a partner to gumbo. For that, I make a nice whole wheat highly herbed batard French bread.

    Oh yeah, while we're on the subject of food. What do you get when you divide the circumference of a pumpkin by it's diameter? Pumpkin Pi.
