We have vinyl flooring in our bathroom. When we moved in it wasn't bad at all, just needed to be cleaned thoroughly. But the vinyl is starting to come up in places now and instead up using glue to hold it back down I would like to redo the floor with some tile. It wouldn't cost much as the bathroom is not very big. And I want to do it ourselves, well it would probably be mostly me doing it since my Honey's vision is not the greatest anymore. I'm going to check out some you tube videos on how to do this and then proceed from there. I'm looking forward to this project and I will share my results with y'all.
Good for you... your bathroom is small like ours...although we don't have a toilet in there... we have separate bathroom and toilet After years of various different vinyl flooring..we decided about 10 years ago to put in ceramic....best thing we ever did... it takes no maintenance at all.. and it will last forever if we want it too...
We have real wood flooring throughout the rest of our Cottage but for some reason the bathroom flooring was never updated. Now it will be.
We have ceramic tiles in our kitchen..bathrooms...and downstairs hallway... I'm sure you'll do a fine job on your bathroom
My daughters' homes all have ceramic tiles throughout but I have found that old feet hurt even worse after walking on tile all day. Tile will be fine in the bathroom though.
Yes I wouldn't want to have it in every room in the house...we have carpets in the livingroom, stairs and bedrooms.... However at our house on the continent we have ceramic/marble tiles...in every single room to keep everything cool...so we have to have rugs down in the bedrooms and livingroom for a bit of comfort
Ceramic tile is pretty easy to do, or at least mistakes are easily covered or not noticeable. If it wasn't so expensive, I'd like to lay more of it down in our house. I am watching for overruns or other sales right now to do our entry and another room. Ceramic doesn't have to be redone, at least not in my lifetime.
I greatly prefer ceramic tile. Did nearly our entire house in Phoenix with a beautiful shade of very light pink. A steal, it was, at 25 cents a square foot. Living room and kitchen had 750 sq. ft. of it. Frank
The adventure of redoing our bathroom flooring is still a "work in progress" as we discovered there was a leak in either our toilet or bathtub that was causing the bathroom floor to get "spongy" in areas. Finally our Landlord found the problem was not with the toilet leaking but the leakage was coming from our tub drain. A few weeks ago he put in a new tub drain and now we are waiting to see if this will take care of the problem. For now redoing the flooring in our bathroom is on hold...just like so many other things in our lives. :0
