We have an Appleby's restaurant. I only ate there once. It's ok, but kind of pricey. I only had one complaint. I had to change my phone number because of them. It seems our phone numbers are only one digit different. I was constantly getting calls wanting them. I could have had a lot of fun with that situation, were I that kind of guy.
I have been in quite a few Appleby's restaurants, but not recently. We have one on Bangor, but there are other choices there that we consider to be better, so we haven't eaten there more than once. To the best of my recollection, Appleby's has fairly good food at prices that are not at all cheap, but there are far more expensive possibilities. I have been in a few of them, in Texas, and when traveling, and I think they are pretty much standard throughout the chain. If you like one, you'll probably like another. As I remember it, the Appleby's restaurants I have been in have been fairly dark inside, which makes it difficult to read a newspaper or a book, which I like to do in restaurants; and I'm not sure, but I think they have a sports bar also, don't they? I might be thinking of another one, but I remember it being too loud to carry on a reasonable conversation.
Have eaten there a few times but not recently, not a bad place for a lunch if youre out and about shopping. I see them mostly in shopping plazas here. I seldom pay for my meals so can't comment on the price.
I've eaten at Appleby's, Chili's, and Friday's once each. To me they are about the same, full of young noisy people. We don't eat out much and when we do we want peaceful surroundings. It's probably been 10 or15 years since we went to any of those mentioned.
A;though I don't like Chili's. I used to have lunch meetings at Friday's and it was okay as a luncheon destination. It didn't seem loud at noon.
We have one here I don't care for it especially with their anti 2nd Amend views and 06 & 07 signs, they get mostly folks from the interstate not lots of locals there. Much better places to eat here and much cheaper and better food of you like home style cooking.
I doubt I'll ever eat in an Appleby's again. Just wasn't that great or even good the last time I ate there....maybe 10 yrs ago. In my opinion...the other similar types of chains are better including Chili's, TGIF, etc?.although it's been years since Ive been to those.
