Is Anyone Else Having Problems With Forum?

  1. For a long time I couldn't get in, it was like I was locked out- typed in login info, but instead of logging in, it bounced back to the main page. When I didn't receive response to contact form, I wondered if I'd been banned without notice. After I did a SystemRestore I was able to log in this time, but it still says connection is not secure and login info may be compromised. Has anyone else had these experiences, or know what's going on???

    There's nothing going on with the server. Everything is in working order, unless it was a temporary glitch that fixed itself or that someone at the server site fixed before I was even aware of it. I have come across similar errors from time to time, but not here. Usually, when I refresh the browser things are working well again.

  5. Every computer I've had in recent years tends to go squirrely during the weeks before and after the time changes (daylight savings). They do all kinds of weird things.
    So maybe the problems are on my computer, but I have no idea what the reason is.

    I noticed when I signed in yesterday..a message came up....Not a secure server ?

    I'm not either but I'm on an iPad all the time or my iPhone. I don't think I've been on a computer on this forum ever.

    I have noticed that I connect slower sometimes, and even have to try 3-4 times before the page will open, and if I do get a message it says connection to the server was lost. However, this seems to be a general issue that I have and not specific to this forum, and I blamed it on my internet connection with AT&T.
    Since I also only use my iPad, like several of us here do, I do not usually have the same kinds of erratic behavior that you get from a computer.

    I have the same issue as you, Yvonne. Connection to server lost but then I can't connect anywhere.

    Also have AT&T for my internet.

    I had not had much of a problem with this until about the time last year when they did that thing about turning the internet over to the UN, and it seems like since then, there has just been more problems online. Not only connecting; but I think that the searches are not bringing up as good of results as I used to find (although that might be my imagination).
    I remember we were discussing this problem about the United States giving control of the internet to the United Nations on this forum back when it happened.
    We switched from Comcast to DirecTV about a year ago, and it came with the AT&T internet, and it worked just fine at first. It seems like the connection problem happens more and more often now though.
    Does it seem like it is getting more frequent to you, too, @Chrissy Cross ?

    I switched to Direct for my TV last year but I've always had the bundle and it's still a bundle with Direct TV. Yes, the problem has happened very frequently this last month...almost every other day and sometimes a few times a day.

    Thankfully it doesn't last long and just going to my settings and clicking on wifi again fixes it.

    Sometimes I'll get a message after it's fixed but I don't remember the wording but something about an error occurred...

    That is a great idea ! I have been restarting the iPad when it starts not connecting, and that always takes a while. Just reconnecting the wifi would be much faster; so thank you very much for that helpful hint, Chrissy !

    Ive always done it this way because I hate shutting down and restarting...too many places I have to re-enter my password.

    It takes a few seconds til your home network shows up but then just click on it, I don't even bother putting in my wifi password because it will connect without you doing it...sometimes it asks, just ignore or hit cancel.
