https://trailers.apple.com/trailers/wb/geostorm/ I want to go see this. It's supposed to be about how the weather is being controlled by us. I'm sure there may be some truth to it. I think the Movie just came out but I'm going to ask if anyone has seen it yet anyway. Have you?
I saw the previews when we went to watch the new Blade Runner movie. It really reminds me (just from the little we saw) of the Art Bell movie from a few years ago, called “The Day After Tomorrow”. The trailer just goes from one catastrophe to the next one, and the whole world seems to be affected with one disaster or another. I think that there is just too much of this for me, and I do not want to see it, although I would have wanted to when I was younger, and life was not so stressed as it is now.
I can certainly understand this @Yvonne Smith. I am hoping to go see it because I am curious how they are going to explain how we can control the weather with all the "tech" stuff we have now.
I agree with you about learning how they control the weather, and I have been reading some about that and also watching some youtube videos. It is just the idea of watching a movie that goes from one disaster to another and shows all of those people dying that i do not care to watch anymore. I think that I have gotten to the point in my life where I prefer movies that are less dramatic. I think that the movie will go more into what happens with weather modification, and showing the results, and not so much into how it is done, but i could be very wrong about that because all I know is that I saw on the trailer. I will be looking forward to hearing what you thought about it, and what evidence for weather modification programs are presented in the movie !
I know what you mean. I can't stand watching the TV shows that show all the violence and evil happening in the World, shows like Criminal Minds, etc. Sometimes I think these shows just give criminals and evil people more ideas how to commit evil. Natural disasters interest me though...but like you I don't like to see the people dying. I do find it interesting though to see how some of them survive these disasters. But I want to see this Movie because I did not believe we could control the weather...but now with all the tech advances we have and are making...I'm questioning this possibility and am curious as to what this Movie will show. I may ask you for some of the links to what you have been researching on this after I see the Movie and I hope you won't mind sharing some with me @Yvonne Smith. I hope my husband and I will be able to go see the Movie on Thursday...if we can I will let you know my thoughts on it.
My arthritis is not going to let me go sit in a theater today and see Geostorm. I'm really disappointed in this because my Honey and I rarely go to the Movies. In fact in our almost 13 years of marriage we have been to the Movies exactly two times. Tomorrow they will be changing Movies but since Geostorm just started (I think) maybe it will be showing until next Friday and we will have a chance to see it. Life..sometimes it just doesn't work the way you want it to.
{Two years ago, the governments of the world united to create the Dutch Boy program to protect the planet from frequent natural disasters that have occurred due to drastic climate changes. Now the earth is in danger as the program has malfunctioned and a series of geoengineering satellites threaten the very existence of humanity, and our only hope is two estranged brothers who must find a way to reprogram the system and prevent a world-wide Geostorm.} I found this synopsi of the Geostorm which tells a little more of what it's about.
We did it! My Honey and I got to go see Geostorm today! We both enjoyed this Movie. It kept me on the edge of my seat, wasn't to violent, and had a good ending. I didn't really learn anything about how the weather would be controlled from space...but they did have some nice looking space stations, etc. While it isn't a Movie I would put in the want to see over and over again category...I definitely didn't mind paying the Theater price to see it. Having a Movie date with my Honey and seeing a Movie we both enjoyed was nice too.
