I don't have a smart phone and my printer doesn't work. Now I see they have coupons they can apparently scan from your phone? I was at Safeway grocery stores and this type discount was posted in front of an item I wanted to get. But it made me mad I didn't have access to this digital coupon so I didn't get the item.

I'm not interested in a smart phone at this time so I guess I'm out on this one. I literally felt like it was discriminatory. Or I'm just way behind the times.

Many businesses have online digital coupons on their websites. You can download them to your card or account. When the cashier scans your card, the discount automatically comes off. Food Lion loads them to your card. At Dollar general, you put in your phone number and the discounts come off.

That is what I do also, @Shirley Martin . Kroger has the digital coupons and I sort them by the newest and add any coupons that I even think that I might use onto my Kroger card. Since Kroger has closeout sales all of the time, sometimes I will find something on a deep price reduction that I would not buy at full price; but I will buy on sale. Then I have the digital coupon that automatically comes off at checkout, so the price is even better.
Even though I have a smart phone, I have never scanned any coupons that way; so the only kinds of coupons I use are the ones from the websites that I can just load onto my loyalty card, or with my phone number like Dollar General does.
Apparently the coupons from DG only last for one week, so I do not always remember to load the new ones on when they come out on Sundays.

Oh, my goodness, do I just LOVE e-coupons !
This morning, I sat down and looked at the Kroger app, and added every single coupon for anything that we might possibly use, whether it is something we usually buy , or can afford.
Since Kroger regularly puts out baskets of close out sales, called “Manager Special”; and I will buy something on the close out price that I would never even consider at the regular price, I always get those coupons, too.

Today, they had the Gevalia Coffee, both the 14 oz bags and the little K-cup boxes, and what was usually $7.99 a bag was now $2.45 per bag; So I loaded a bunch up in the shopping cart.
When we paid, it turned out that I had added e-coupons for the coffee, and it was a Mega-event Savings; so I got another $1 off of each container, meaning I paid $ 1.45 for each $7 bag of coffee or K-cup box .
Just about everything we bought was on the close-out special, so we came home with our groceries at an almost-nothing price.
    I am such a happy shopper !
