Good question Ina - It could be a part of the brain protecting our emotion. I know from experience, that when I have
had a traumatic event, the brain has shut down on that event - it may be triggered again down the line
    Fascinating

I have dreams of my husband, sometimes I ask him why he's there since he died. Other times it's just natural that he's in them. I ant remember the last time he was in a dream but it's haphazard.

I also dream of my grandparents a lot, but those dreams are mixed in time, lots of my dreams are.

I never thought about joining a widow and widowers forum but now it's been 12 years but I may check one out anyway.

Would it be wrong if I was doing it to maybe hook a nice widower? A widower is better than a divorced man since there was probably a reason for the divorce.

@Chrissy Page Of course, there always is a reason for divorce. It's a two-sided two-direction street, though, and I've learned during my lifetime that often divorce is in the long-run a preferable solution to "staying together for the kids' sakes", security, monetary, etc. Frank

I'm just saying that if I was to date I'd prefer a widower, yes they can be problematic also but in a divorce someone was usually at fault...not always but usually a reason. Could have been the woman's fault but if I have a choice it's a widower, also no ex wives, etc.

After reading several post, I know I've dreams where I wake to use the bathroom go back to sleep and continue with the same dream, this happen three times that night. I've also had dreams where I'm trying to wake up, and can't being paralyzed as they call them. I've also had dreams when in the dream I'm asleep and same thing happens, I'm paralyzed. I hate them dreams. Other dreams that I've had are about tsunami wave, (something I'm very scared of), I can see them coming and I'm trying to run but can't, everyone is passing me, some are grabbing my hand to help, but let go cause I can't keep up.
    There are so many more.

I was looking for something about dreams and found this, I also included the website it has a lot of interest things:

WHAT THE NATIVE AMERICANS BELIEVE DREAMS MEAN
Some Native American tribes and Mexican civilizations share this same notion of a distinct dream dimension. They believed that their ancestors lived in their dreams and take on non-human forms like plants. They see that dreams as a way of visiting and having contact with their ancestors. During the Middle Ages, dreams were seen as evil and its images were temptations from the devil. In the vulnerable sleep state, the devil was believed to fill the mind of humans with poisonous thoughts. He did his dirty work though dreams attempting to mislead humans down a wrong path.

In the early 19th century, dreams were dismissed as stemming from anxiety, a household noise or even indigestion. Hence there was really no meaning to it. Later on in the 19th century, Sigmund Freud revived the importance of dreams and its significance and need for interpretation. He revolutionized the study of dreams.

    Hi Teresita,
When I was younger, I mentioned before that I was a single parent, during that time, I would dream of her father, and the next day he would be calling. It never failed, months would go by and nothing, no dream about him at all. Than all of sudden he is in my dreams, and I get the phone call. I don't remember when I stopped dreaming about him. He does pop into my dreams once in while, one dream I remember we were actually friends. the others we're always fighting.

Just remembered, for the longest time I was dreaming of being back at school, it's always in Jr. high, walking the halls and looking for my locker, once I found it I could never remember the combination, I'm always late for class because I can't find my books, or other times I'll just join the class and hope that the teacher doesn't notice. There are also time where I have to take a test because that the only thing I have left to get my degree. It seem so real that when I wake I have to stop and thing, did I graduate? Do I have to finish anything, are all exams done? It takes a while to gather my thoughts, and than I remember, you I did finish everything. I kept wondering why I do I keep dreaming about school, and at one time I had always wanted to go back to school. I finally went back to college and accomplished my dream. I finally stopped dreaming about being back at school. I found the answer to that dream.

Rachel - it seems to me you are an anxious person, you worry yourself a little too much
Before bed, watch something pleasant or listen to some good happy music, or something soothing
This will help. What we watch or listen to before bedtime can either disturb our sleep or relax us :)

    Good Morning Patsy,
I do worry a lot, sometimes my mind just keeps going, so I have to stop thinking of what on mind, and think of something else. I also listen to music when falling asleep. There be other times, like last night I don't remember what I was dreaming about. And than again, I kept waking up, it will come to me. lol

@Rachel Rodarte, try lavender tea. I've read that the fragrance makes one relax. I haven't tried it but it is an herb and I do believe the effects that some herbs have on the human body. I would go all out and buy lavender candles, bubble bath and tea and make it a *spa* moment before turning in for the evening.

    Hi Von Jones,
I'm going to try that, I don't have a car until my husband gets home on Friday and I will look for it, I also heard that Gardenias are good for sleeping. I love the smell of them. Thank you Von, I will check the lavender tea out and let you know how it went.
