For example, heads of Law Enforcement agencies now routinely send their new recruits to "schools" where they are taught the ins and outs of confiscation of private property. Believe it or not. Shortly after moving to rural Missouri, a guy in uniform came from up the road, stopped, explained he was the County Sheriff. Running for re-election. Told of his various achievements, which included sending his deputies for such training. He bragged of it, as though I should be thrilled to learn this. He picked the wrong guy. Frank
I never want to see the military in any fashion policing the daily lives of our citizens. Yes there are times that the national graurd is needed, or even the coast guard. But the day we start seeing and getting use to government control on our streets on a daily bases will be the day that is not America anymore.

We have had race riots and protests almost every decade. Why now are we going to have the scenario of a police state? There has been more violence in previous decades with more lives lost than now and your all talking guns taken away, etc. This is the agenda I'm talking about that bothers me. Everything revolves around the fear of your guns being taken away. It's a constant theme on here with no proof that it will happen. Actually if you google race riots you will see how much worse things were before. The 60's being the worst decade. Nothing happened were not a police state, and we won't be now. Everything gets so blown out of proportion. Yes, it's a tough time but it's nothing new,
This is turning into an anti police thread it seems. Frank you seem to have the most distrust of police. Yes, there are a few bad ones but most arent. Enjoy life without them, because soon nobody will want to be one. And if you think armed citizens patrolling the neighborhoods is a good idea, think again. That is the absolute worst scenario I can think of.
Just read he was a black Separatist and also ex military. Think the Dallas shooter was ex military also if I recall.
There has been far more in the past seven years than in recent decades, and what does Obama talk about after every one of them? If a black person is shot, he talks about racial hatred and the need for gun control. If a black person is shot by a cop, he jumps to the conclusion that the police were at fault. If a white person is shot by a cop, we don't hear anything about it. If a white person is shot by a Muslim, he talks about not jumping to conclusions and about the need for gun control. If a white person is shot by a black person who might not be a Muslim, he talks about how we need to understand the plight of black people, and about gun control. If a white person is shot by anyone else, he limits his concerns to the need for gun control. Is there any wonder why people are concerned about gun banning?
He won't be president in a few more months anyway. Guns won't be banned but something needs to be done about the crazy people. Also, at home they need to lock up there guns. After reading about the crazy person in Florida killing two in a hospital I just read an 8 yr old boy shot himself by accident and although they tried CPR, he died later. There's just too many crazy people and angry people that have guns. Angry won't show on a background check and there is such rage today even just driving that it's scary. Truth is that too many irresponsible losers have guns legally. Then you have the macho john Wayne types. Just too many "types" that shouldn't have guns. That's what's making it look bad for the Responsible gun owners who really just want to use it for self defense. Obama is right though ...there is racial hatred, he may be adding to it even if he's not doing it on purpose, it's in his background and it comes out. Yes, it's bad now, like it was in the 60's but it will die down again but it will never go away completely. Maybe the future generations... I see more tolerance.
@Chrissy Page I'm afraid you're right, Chrissy! Given the power to go awry, the ability to molest and get away with it, the lack of fear of retaliation from the victim...........put armed citizens in the streets, and we'll wind up with them acting just like our government in time. Frank
