    The Problem-Reaction-Solution Paradigm
    1. The government creates or exploits a problem and then attributes blame to others.
    2. The people react by asking the government for protection and help in solving the problem.
    3. The government then offers a solution that was planned by them long before this crisis occurred.
Outcome: Rights and liberties are exchanged for the illusion of protection and help.

“They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.” -- Benjamin Franklin

Except it's not always the government creating the problem. There has always been turmoil in the world and
That's just the way it is.

Also, you assume that everyone is against having protection from these problems, thats not true either.

Even if 9-11 didn't happen and the govt said they need to be more careful because of what's happening in other countries, I would have no problem with the Patriot Act.

It doesn't really interfere with my life at all, I don't even notice it. For some it's a cause but not for everyone.

I'm just happy to live the life I live in a decent country. You will never please all the people, that's impossible.

Be glad you didn't have to live in a communist country, all this is child's play compared to that.

I'm just stating how I feel and have no plan of arguing my opinion. Even if everything is a conspiracy, it doesn't change my view.

Actually, the second point in the paradigm assumes that they will ask for protection.

Well then it's accurate for some because I would be the type to ask. I assume I'm not the on,y one that thinks this way either.

Actually I was just coming here to delete my answer but since you replied, I'll leave it. I always reply to impulsively then later I decide I was being too flippant and that was the case here. I'll let it stand though, it's basically the way I feel.

The government exploiting a problem and blaming it on others, eh? Yep, yep... we're watching it happen before our eyes. At least I fully believe that the current administration has *wanted* race relations to get this bad. (As just one example.) We've watched it, how could it be denied? Of course the media isn't government and they're just as bad. Let an officer of color kill a white kid who's resisting arrest and see how much coverage it gets. And our commander-in-chief probably won't jump on the airwaves immediately blaming guns to further his agenda.

Not sure I agree fully with #2 though, unless it's going over my head. In what ways could people ask the government for help? I'm thinking I'm just not following the whole train of thought here.

In any case, yes, it happens... turn on the news any given day. Sad state of affairs. :(:(

To me, this isn't a conspiracy, this is just "life as we know it in the 21st century."

I look at it differently though. These things might be true but Utopia doesn't exist. What we have in government is a lot better than most, sure there are problems but go live someplace else that has a dictator or is communist and you'll come back here and realize you don't have it so bad.

Go back through History and you'll see every era had its problems and lies and secrets, nothing new
    Going on, just different problems.

Also, when the constitution was written I doubt that they could forsee most of the problems in the world today. Didn't even have planes or any of the modern warfare we have. They were thinking with minds that only knew of their time.

I bet if it was written today, it would be very different.

No question there... we have it tons better than a lot of areas of the world. But certain branches of the government staging to escalate problems that may have been resolved on their own? Yes, I've seen it so I couldn't deny it. They do it.

Utopia may not exist... or Camelot, but I don't want government officials turning it into "101 Hell Street" either.

I also hope not. I'm always optimistic and feel things will work out ok and things will right themselves.

I live in my own happy little world where there is no turmoil and my biggest problem is changing my smoke alarm battery.

I'm sure you'll say but what kind of a world do you want for your grandsons. Truth is they may not want what we want and it's their job to make it what is best for the times. The times they are a changin and what we old farts think is right is not necessarily true for the next generation.

It will be a different world and it's starting already. The technology, the different types of sexual preferences, transgender, gay, bisexual, etc. that's not going to go away.

You may not like it but that's the way it is.

I used to say the same thing about things working out. Last few years though, I'm not so sure any longer.

And no, I wouldn't ask what kind of world you want for your grandsons. :) That's manipulative and game playing and I refuse! :D Changing times are great... but they'll have to start changing for the better, too, and not head downhill on full throttle constantly.

Durn tootin' I don't like it... but I do believe that it's going to swing around and at least improve a little bit. See, I still have *some* of that optimism left. You may need a magnifying glass to see it, but.....

I'm not saying that things are perfect and I agree we do have problems but I think the first step is coming together and not hating each other. Otherwise we will get nowhere.

Each side has to give a little...

Maybe people will come together more under President Trump and start healing. Yes. Chrissy Page, don't you dare throw that at me. I see it behind your back! @Chrissy Page

Not to make light of a very serious topic, but sometimes if we don't laugh, we... well, you know.

I looked it up and it also works for Christianity....this was a comment but it makes sense also.

So, I understand that the most effective ideology which is solely based on so called "hegelian" dialectic is Christianity:
    Thesis: life in paradise, connection, communion with God, purity, innocence, afirmation, pure nakedness;
Antithesis: sin, disconnection from God, inpurity, guilt, opposite force, shameful nakedness [problem]

Synthesis: Jesus is your savior, reunion with God by beliving in Christ [reaction-solution]

So, I understand now... the Church is trying to control our Souls, societies by this dialectic of guilt and belief in Messiah.

My theory is everything can be twisted to fit what you want it to fit.

@Chrissy Page "My theory is everything can be twisted to fit what you want it to fit."

Almost everything, but not Einstein's Relativity predictions: The faster you go, the smaller you get. Also, the heavier you get. Moving at the speed of light, you disappear, but have mass filling the entire Universe.

They've tried to twist his law into something else, but so far, uh, uh.
