It may just coincidence but the last year or so, I'm finding that things have been popping into my mind, that later have come to pass. In the past there have been a few instances where some thing has popped into my head and came to but be. It is happening more lately but not in important ways, just small things, like knowing someone was not going to be at work that day. One occurrence in the past my husband and I was driving to work together in the morning and I turned to him and told him I was going to be laid off that day. When he asked how I knew that I had to tell him I didn't know. When I got to work I went through my things and packed all my personal things. At the end of the work day my boss came in and asked me to come to his office. After he told me I told him I was already packed, he thought some one told me but they hadn't. I had worked for that company for two weeks shy of twenty five years and had not done a thing that should have gotten me laid off.

You have probably become less distracted, as you have gotten older.

Persuading others of it hasn't been easy so I long ago gave up on that, but I have always believed that my intuition has been strong, at least so far as judging someone's character. I can't say that it's been a hundred percent but I have a pretty good idea as to what kind of a person someone is going to be shortly after we meet. As far as knowing what's going to happen ahead of time, I can't say that my powers of premonition have been particularly high. I haven't noticed any changes along these lines as I have grown older, though.

I think that as we open ourselves up to hearing our inner voice, then we do become more perceptive. My mother was wonderful at doing that, and she often knew things that could only have come from the voice of God speaking to her, or her own inner perception.
I don't think that this is happening to the world in general though, and some people don't even seem to exist in the real world; but live in the fantasy world of video games, computer reality, and television shows.
As @Joe Riley suggested, You migh be less distracted with things going on around your life now, and also I think that as you become aware of it when it happens, you will probably be "tuning in" to the information better when you are receiving it.
All in all, I think that it is a good thing, and I wish that I was as perceptive of these things as my mother was.

@Ken Anderson, I found your comment "I have a pretty good idea as to what kind of a person someone is going to be shortly after we meet", very interesting. It reminded me of Will Rodger's statement "I never met a man, I didn't like", turned slightly askew. I think he liked everyone he met...at the time he met them....giving each the benefit of the doubt. That would mean that he could not operate by intuition, or that he could "disable" it at will, giving him the "advantage" of being able to to initially accept them. My second thought is that you would make a good TSA screener at the airport....and Will would have made a poor one!;)

Intuition is akin to predicting the future: Accurate ability to perform that feat is reserved for the imps confined to their bottles. Release one, and you might be granted a wish by the rascal. Should you trust him given that opportunity? Welll, judge him by his swarthiness; the worse he looks, the more he can be trusted.

Given that he offers you one, and only one, wish to be granted by him, as payback for releasing him from hundreds or even thousands of years of confinement within his bottle, what would your one wish be?

I think Joe is right, you are less distracted
I was very good with intuition and spot on with it, now it is less so
    I'm 'more' distracted now

I am pretty good at sensing certain vibes. I am not sure if it has gotten stronger or not. However, if they are negative ones, I am always glad if I am wrong.Although, sometimes I think I behave in a way that is a self fulfilling prophecy. Anyway, this may go in the dream thread, but one time, I had a dream about someone dying at Niagara Falls going over the Falls, and the next day it was in the news, that it happened. Was it a coincidence? Probably it was not, but why would I dream it ?.strange to me.

Many years ago, I had a little Poodle that I dearly loved. Every night before bed, I would let him out in the yard to go to the bathroom one last time.
One night, just as I was calling him to the door, a little voice inside said "If you let that little dog out there, you will never see him alive again."
Well, that was a scary thought; but when I considered it, it was also a silly idea. I let the dog out in the yard every single night; so why should tonight be any different ?
He was standing beside the door, patiently waiting to be let out , so I brushed the thought away and let him out as usual.
Well...... He didn't come back !
I called and called, then we all went outside and hunted for him, with no luck. He was just a tiny Toy Poodle, and he never went outside of the yard; so it seemed like he should be right there somewhere.
Eventually, we ralized that he was just GONE, and tearfully (wishing I had listened to that voice) we gave up for the night and went to bed.
The next morning, when we had daylight, I found my dog.
Something, maybe a coyote or other large stray dog, had attacked and killed him and left his little body in th back corner of one of the sheds on the property.
I was totally broken-hearted. After that , I really tried hard to listen when that little voice was telling me something, no matter how unlikely it sounded.
My mother always listened to her voice, and she said that if you listen, you may never know what might have happened; but if you do not listen, you will find out, and it might not be good.
    She was surely right.

How sad about your little dog. I am going to be dog sitting a little dog in July. I will not let him out by himself at night for that very reason. I used to have a dog that was a little larger than he was that I used to let out at night all the time and there were never any problems, but he had 10 pounds on this little dog. So, I am not willing to risk it, with the visitor.

Sad story, Yvonne. Pickles only goes in my fenced backyard. He's not street savvy at all, so if he got out I'm pretty sure he'd get hit by a car. I don't know if he'd get lost, he seems to have a very good feel for where he is.

He hates the drive to my daughter's and will just lay on the front seat and go into shock basically but the minute I pull off the ramp on Hwy 101 at the Monterey Peninsula exit, he's up and looking out the window.

We still have about a 15 min drive from there but he's alert and looking out the window and barking if I'm stopped and there are people.

The same pattern when we go home. After I pull off hwy 41, he's up! Still have about 5-10 mins of driving to my house but he's ready to get home.

Hmmm, maybe he just doesn't like Highways, lol.

Went off track above but in answer to the question, yes, my intuition is stronger but it's always been strong.

And I also think woman are more intuitive than men.

I have found that intuition is governed by beliefs so they can be very misleading. Now I just become a bystander and let go of intuition and beliefs and just enjoy the information I am seeing

When I was younger, I was experimenting on intuition because it was the fad in college. There was this test that you have to sit by the phone and think of who would be calling. That is the basic test in intuition. And I'm proud to say that I always failed in that test, huh. But now I can easily pass that test because our phone has a caller ID, hahahaaah.

Seriously now, I know some people who have good intuition. Whether it is being clairvoyant or having a third eye, I don't know but what I can say is that they have better chances than an ordinary person when it comes to deciding during crisis time. Like when the big earthquake struck Manila in 1990, one I know said that she was about to come up a building but felt something strange so she stayed in the car which was in the open carpark. That's where she saw the building in the business district were swaying and seemingly to topple. In another incident of another intuitive person, she would have been in a bus that figured in a tragic collision but she felt something so she didn't take the said bus.

But all of those people I know who have that power of intuition tell me that they cannot use their power in gambling. So in playing the roulette, we are on equal footing.
