The other day, I was at Kroger buying groceries, and there was a person there who was demonstrating bamboo pillows. I have seen the TV ads for My Pillow, but I hadn't ever seen a bamboo pillow before, so I was interested in learning about it.
The cover was made of bamboo, but it felt like a regular material, and not what we think of when we picture bamboo. He said that it helps to keep the pillow cover cooler, and also helps to keep the pillow clean.
The inside was shredded memory foam.
He said that they usually sell for about $100, just like the My Pillow does; but they had a special price of 2 for $60 there at Kroger.
I didn't get them, but they did feel like a really nice pillow, and like they would be very comfortable to sleep on.
Naturally, when I got back home, I looked on Amazon to see if they carried these pillows, and they did (imagine that !) and on Amazon they were less than $50 for the set of two pillows. I have a gift card that I just got from the You.gov surveys; so we are talking about maybe buying a set.
Has anyone ever used one of these pillows, and if so, are they as good as they advertise, and are they worth the expensive prices they charge ?

No, I hadn't heard of them until now. I don't usually use a pillow except maybe a very soft thin one.

I have never used Bamboo pillows but I use Bamboo sheets.. and they are beautifully soft. When they get dried in the dryer they come out very stiff but they so0n drop back into the beautiful soft shape as before. I much prefer them to Egyptian Cotton. I'd love to try Bamboo Bath Sheet but they are really expensive , hopefully if the prices drop I'll be able to eventually get some..

I've never heard of the bamboo pillow covers. I guess they're trying to attract those interested in comfort and newer materials, and the filling is probably economical, since by now, there are probably plenty of memory foam mattresses that need recycling. I've also used bamboo sheets and have a pair of bamboo socks that I find to be very soft and comfortable. It sounds as if it could be a good purchase, at least the ones you have found on Amazon, since they're less expensive.

I have tried so many pillows I've lost count, can't find one to suit me - memory foam goes so soft in warmer weather so yer head touches the mattress !
But Bamboo - I like the sound of them sheets Holly, must give them a try
@Holly Saunders - Do you find them cooler ?

Yes they are cooler @Patsy Faye but they are also incredibly soft...

I wouldn't sleep on memory pillows because I'd find them wayy too hot.. I use Hungarian Goose down pillows , they're not cheap but if you shop around you can find them at an affordable price...they have real support in them without being too firm.

You are so right - very hot
I have severe nerve damage, the nerves tingle and burn real bad, so I have tried many different types of bedding
I like that the Bamboo is soft, funny how it 'becomes soft' after a while from the dryer ............
I'll search for products next week, see what I can find :)

Where do you find them if you don't mind my asking? I usually use high thread count all cotton but these sound interesting.

I haven't tried them yet but there are several choices available on Amazon.com. Here's one.
