Have you ever woke up and discovered that you were (silently) singing in your sleep ? I have done this often before; but hadn't really thought much about it until last night.
I was snoozing along, and then woke up and realized that I was singing to myself in my sleep, as opposed to dreaming in my sleep.
Usually when I sing in my sleep, it is a hymn that I have known for years, like last night. I was singing "Where Could I Go But to My Lord?" When I woke up.
However, I have been known to sing other, odd songs, such as radio commercials, like the "Oscar Meyer Weiner Song" . (Oh, I wish I was an Oscar Meyer weiner, that is what i'd really like to be-e-e...)

So..... Who else sings in their sleep sometimes ?

I haven't experienced singing in sleep yet, probably because i don't have a golden voice:) Instead of singing, i remember a dream i had before where i was crying and when i woke up there were really real tears. I vividly remembered the tears but not the reason why i was crying.

This dream was actually more like the phenomenon of having a song running through your head, except that usually happens during the day when I am awake, and often, something has triggered a particular song and started me mentally singing it.
In this case, it may have come from something I was dreaming, and that started the song in my mind.

The time that I remember singing the Oscar Meyer song, it actually had some different words in my dream; but the tune seemed really familiar to me when I woke up.
I was telling Robin about the dream and singing the song with whatever the words were in the dream, and that it seemed somehow familiar, and she said, "Well, Mom, that's because your were singing the Oscar Mayer weiner commercial", like I should have been able to figure that out on my own.
Yeah, I did feel silly after I realized that......

I have never sung in my sleep to the best of my knowledge.. I am not sure I have ever even talked in my sleep, but I used to have a boyfriend who did it on a regular basis. According to my aunt, my uncle once sat up in bed and started clapping. When he woke up, he said he dreamed he was in Vegas, and had just won a jackpot at the casino. I guess that would be a reason to sit up in bed and clap!

I have never sang in my sleep. Don't think I have ever talked in my sleep. I have been known to snore a bit.

It happened to me once. I was a new employee in the first bank and I brought home the office manual which I read at home until past midnight. Maybe out of my excitement for my new job, I woke up at dawn. I went to the living room and continued reading the office manual until I dozed off. Then there was this dream that I was walking on my way to work while singing "Against All Odds" by Phil Collins. In my dream, the song was already in the 3rd line when I was jolted from my sleep by the sound of my mother's voice.

I woke up to hear the same song in my dream being played on the radio. Well? Does that mean I have been hearing the song while asleep and it played in my mind? That looked like it.

@Corie Henson , I think that you are right and that is exactly what did happen. I know that when I am dreaming and there are external sounds, they often seem to jut become part of my dream. If it starts to thunder , then I am dreaming that there is a thundertorm all of a sudden, or in my dream, the thunder-booms could represent something totally different, like cars crashing or someone slamming a door.
It is interesting how thing like this can show up in our dreams in odd ways. One of the worst ones was when i was in the hopital with a badly broken leg, and in intense pain. They had given me a heavy dose of pain meds so that i could sleep at all, which made the nightmare even worse.
I was dreaming that i was dangling by my leg (tied with a heavy rope) outside of some skyscraper, and I could see the cars and people a log ways down below me. The nightmare scared me so bad that it woke me up, and then I reealized that why my leg was hurting so bad in my nightmare was because it was the one that was broken, and it WAS really hurting that bad !
