Sometimes, my dreams are just so real, it seems like they have happened and they are clear in my mind.
Most of the time, though, I either forget them completely, or I just have a very small memory of the dream, and it usually does not make any sense when I do remember it.

One of the best dreams that I ever had was about the "Great Dane Room". It was years ago, the kids were little, and we lived in this tiny, tiny little house that might have been all of 500sqft. It had kind of an attic, and the boys slept upstairs, and they got there by climbing up a ladder in my bedroom.
The kitchen had a room that had been intended for a table, and it was about 6x8, and that was where Robin slept.
Most of the front room was taken up by the wood stove, and the wood cook stove took up the kitchen.
There was no indoor plumbing, just an outhouse, and we packed home all of our water in the back of our old pickup.
Needless to say, we didn't have much room for the three Great Danes, who also were inside dogs.
One night, I dreamed that we added on a special room for the Great Danes.
    It was wonderful ! !
They had their own place to sleep, and we didn't fall over dogs if we had to get up during the night.
When I woke up, I jumped out of bed and went to look at the new room---------and it did not exist ! !

That dream was SO real, and I had been so elated about the Great Dane Room; I was devastated when I realized that the only place we had that wonderful room was in my dreams......

I remember them vividly, sometimes, but only for a short time. When they are particularly remarkable, I review them in my mind after awakening but, in the process, I fill in blanks here or there, change things to make more sense to me and, consequently, the dream that I think I remember has been substantially edited.

A dream for me that is really strong in usually a message of some type. I had a dream recently that the youngest grandson was being picked on at school, the dream woke me up. When I told his mother, she asked him and he admitted that there was a kid in school giving him a hard way to go. A very dear close friend of mine was admitted to a nursing home when his demintia became to severe for him to stay at home. When he passed he came to me in a dream to say good bye. Most of the time I do not remember much of the dreams that are not real strong.

I usually have some recollection of the dream I was having just before waking up. If I don't think about any more about it, the dream will be forgotten, but I can remember some of my dreams from the past that had some impact on me.

I read recently that dreams are usually forgotten when waking up suddenly, for example when an alarm goes off. If you lie dozing for a few more minutes after waking naturally you will remember more of your dream. Also, scientific research shows that everyone dreams but some people have a different brain activity which allows them to clearly remember dreams, while some people may never recall having a dream.

I don't often remember my dreams, but I can identify with Yvonne's dream in which she woke up looking for something that didn't exist as that one has happened to me several times in the past.

The one that stands out was one I used to have frequently, but only in winter. I don't remember what I was doing in the dream or even if it was always the same thing, but it was always complicated by the terror of such a strong glare shining into my eyes that I couldn't keep them open to see what I was doing. One day I realised that I only had that dream when the sun was shining directly onto my face while I was sleeping. And the reason it only happened in winter... the sun doesn't get into my bedroom in summer.

Sometimes, I have what I call "dream places", and these are houses that seem to show up fairly often, but they only exist in my dreams, and nowhere in reality.
I used to dream about a 3-4 story house (huge ! ) and on the main floor was beautiful furniture, antiques, and spacious bathrooms with sunken bathtubs. The kitchen has shelves on all of the walls, and a big table with a chandelier in the dining room. It is awesome.
However, when you leave that floor, and climb the stairs, everything changes . The stairs are dark and narrow, spiderwebs in the corners, and the rest of the house is nothing but old, old unfinished wood.
Creaky old doors lead into bare empty rooms. When you get to the third floor, it is even worse ! Up there, the floorboards are missing, and you can fall through if you aren't careful.

For years, I had dreams about this house. I loved it when I was on the main floor; but dreaded when I had to climb the stairs for some reason.
Lately, I have not dreamed about this house anymore, and the "dream house" seems now to be more of a rancher style home (again huge), but the basement is caves hollowed out of the walls, and a dirt floor. There is usually a fire burning along one side of the rock walls.
I have no idea where these houses came from. I have never been in a house that was even vaguely similar to either one of them.
Any dream interpreters on here ? ?

Yes, most times I do remember my dreams. Less so when I go through a period of not getting enough sleep, but even then I recall a good bit. Some dreams are far more vivid than others. In some, I am quite aware that I am dreaming and begin to ask questions of those around me. Even at times forcefully taking hold of ones who seem out of place or possibly threatening in any way and asking, "Who are you? What is your name?"
I have known myself to say, "This is MY dream. You don't belong in it," at which point whoever it is will usually look surprised and then disappear. I often pray in my dreams, sing praises, fly and move through walls as well as closed doors or windows.
If, during the day, I do forget what I dreamt the night before I have only to lay down when it's time to sleep again and the dreams come back to me as if they'd been bookmarked. And in fact, I guess they have been in a way, as I often suggest in prayer that I should remember at that time. So, often, it's before I sleep again that I tend to consider the dream--or dreams--of the night before and try to break them down as to purpose or meaning.

Depending on my train of thought, and the importance of whatever is happening I am sometimes able to recall dreams. I find that getting a good amount of sleep will make remembering dreams a lot easier. If I want to recall a dream, sometimes all I have to is focus in separating reality from imagination from my recent memories. Learning about the reality of dreams and the plains of consciousness as well as meditation can be of great help if one wishes to usually remember dreams.

There are times when I do remember all of my dreams, but there are times when I can't remember any.

Always remember my dreams after I awake. My dreams are pleasant enough to make me like to dream. To me, a dream is like watching a movie while you sleep. I used to look for a hidden message in my dreams but usually can't detect one. I'm too dense to read signs too well.
Once however, I dreamed I won the lottery. The dream was so real or vivid that when I awoke, I actually felt elated and even remember a few of the numbers I saw on my lottery ticket. Well, awhile later I really did win a substantial sum in the lottery. Enough to save my sorry butt. At the time, I was rock bottom. I seemingly owed everyone money. Creditors were calling me at work, jeopardizing my job. I lived in a shabby room at a hotel, was shooting rabbits out of season for meat in my diet. Drove a 23 year old block of rust Chevy and owed money on it. Worse yet, I was doing speeders to help me keep up with the younger guys on my crew at work. Winning that money probably saved my life. I can't thank God enough.

I usually don't remember anything from my dreams, but there were a few dreams which marked me through my life in the way that they were either too shocking or too pleasant. I'll share the only one that scared me so hard that I woke up in the middle of the night with cold sweat and hard breathing, like in the movies.

In the dream, I was young and was going on a walk with my mother somewhere in my native city, near a park where I spent many happy days playing. It was night and my mother was on the phone. Suddenly, a huge canister comes out of nowhere (in the sky) and drops acid on my mother. At this point, I am absolutely terrified. I try to use my mother's phone to call 911, but it's not working. That's when I woke up.

Ugh, even recalling it after all these years is still as horrible.

Whenever I would have a vivid dream, I would wake up feeling that dream as if it was real. But when I stand up, I tend to forget what it's all about. Now, a friend taught me how to remember that dream. Get a tape recorder and record your dream the moment you wake up. And since I had a tape recorder at that time, I followed the advice. True, I was able to relate to the tape recorder what my dream was about, and in full details. When my tape recorder was not functioning anymore, I would use a note pad for that purpose. But I am not doing that anymore since a dream is just a dream, that's how I see it.

I rarely remember my dreams. When I do it's just bits and pieces. My wife remembers a lot of hers. She has some weird ones too.

:oops:I remember most of my dreams, but most don't make any sense so I quickly forget about them. When I was a little girl I had a recurring dream of being chased and I came to the edge of a cliff either I had to jump or get stumped by whatever is chasing me. Just as the sound of the chaser came close I'd wake up. Then I had a recurring dream of a baby panda being cooked on our stove and I had to watch it. The panda was in one of those big cafeteria pots and the lid on top of it began moving. I sat in a little child's chair to watch the pot. The lid slipped off, the panda climbed out and came walking towards me until it stretched out it's paw to touch my nose. Just as the panda came close to touching my nose I'd wake up. Now my dreams are rare and quite fun. Like the one I had last month when a total stranger gave me a carton of cigarettes. My Mother laughed at my dream and said it'll never happen!

:oops:My Mother said in her dreams her good friends came to say goodbye to her. She told me of three friends that did that in a dream to say goodbye. I never had a dream where people came to say goodbye though. It's fascinating when dreams connect with a message of some kind. Dreams and their meanings have fascinated me. We bought books dream interpretation books that they sell in bookstores. I don't know if any of it is true, but it's fun reading about dreams.
