Obviously I'm stressed about a lot of things. I remember parts of 2 different dreams I had this morning. I was up around 3, and not back to sleep until around 5:30, so they were quick ones.

In one, I was helping out with passing out flyers with information about a missing daughter of someone I knew tangentially (in the dream, not in real life.) I did that, then went home, and I'd received some sort of high end product to try out and review. I opened and unpacked, set the item aside, and then saw something dark moving across the floor. I went to see what it was, and it was a scorpion. Ideas about how to handle the situation were going slowly through my mind, because I didn't want to kill it the way I stomped the one I encountered in my past (in real life), and it went under a piece of furniture, out of sight. The rest of the dream was spent trying to find the scorpion and help with the search for the missing girl, as well as some related intrigue about a missing ring that held a clue to something.

The next one was the second dream. Maybe I heard something outside and was alarmed, because in that dream, I was lying on the bed with my ex, who's my best friend, but doesn't live nearby. We were watching TV and talking, and I heard two male voices out front. I got up and went to the loft (what? No loft here, but other than that, it was basically this house), looked over, and two armed men dressed in darkish clothing had come in the front door, obviously to burglarize the house/rob us. I told him to grab his gun, but he didn't move fast enough, and I got aggravated and grabbed mine and shot them.

I would interpret the first one to show anxiety, feeling of lack of control, struggling, but not accomplishing what needs to be accomplished, and the second as feeling that I can't rely on others, and have to do everything myself.

Perhaps the scorpion dream relates also to the shed snakeskin I found yesterday on the balcony, and reminded me of the time in the past when I first encountered a scorpion. I do worry about burglaries, although they are rare in this neighborhood/area. Theft is pretty common, though, and it wouldn't be surprising if at some point it escalates. The rate of crime always increases when the kids are out of school on breaks and in the Summers.

I, giving it a try on the first dream, and I agree the snakeskin triggered the scorpion as a symbol.

The scorpion represents a problem or bad thing in your life, something to be gotten rid of. This time, for good. Right now, it's hiding, but you sense it's coming.

    The missing daughter is you.

It seems like you want to change, eliminate or correct something you did or was done to you as a child.

No clue about the ring, but it signifies something to you.

    Hey, that was fun!

You sound like an expert, @Ruby Begonia . Most of my dreams have water in them. Sometimes the water is threatening, like I have to get away or I'll drown. I never do, I wake up before that happens. Sometimes I'm in a home and I'm always happy that I have water on my property and that seems to be the highlight of that dream.

In real life I'm not drawn to the water unless I'm on a yacht or cruise or a really big boat.

That's tougher. What the water symbolizes to you, only you know. The scorpion is bad for everyone, so that was easy.

Water threatening to drown you might be something that makes you feel overwhelmed.
Yet water on your property making you happy, I can't guess what that kind of water signifies to you. I have happy water dreams too, of being at the beach.

Thanks, it's very common in my dreams. Then there are the dreams where I'm flying somewhere and I have to be at the airport and I'm not even packed yet. I have a lot of variations on this but the central theme is I'm panicking and not ready.

Well, I'm not good interpreting dreams...but I like that first one..I think the scorpion represents elusiveness..like the lost girl You're trying to find. There is something good waiting in the mystery package..but you can't focus on that until you find the girl, stomp the spider..once and for all...and get that missing ring on your finger.

Okay..it means you're about to meet a wonderful man who might just have that ring you want.

Hmm..the second one is about protecting yourself from harm and you sure did..:). You were the hero of that dream!

The girl was a young adult, and that would definitely apply @Ruby Begonia. I'm a Scorpio, and so are many I'm close to, so that could also have a bearing on it. Ooh, @Karen McKenzie I like the idea of something good at the end. My mother's class ring was stolen from me many years ago, perhaps that's the ring in the dream.

I was snuggled with Kelly earlier (the jumpy rescue) and was dreaming. I was in the kitchen, looked over, and I could see two people through the sheer curtain. Apparently they'd been knocking/banging, but I was in my head and didn't hear. I opened the door, and there were two women there, somewhat imposing pushy types, apparently expecting to come in (sort of trying to push past me, but as if they were expected, not the way burglars would), but I wouldn't let them in, said, "yes?" and the one looked at me as if I was crazy, but I had no idea who they were, and no intention of letting them in. I must have moved, because Kelly jumped up and woke me. It's odd for me to have so many dreams in such a short span of time. I do have a lot on my mind right now, and am somewhat more stressed out than usual, so that's probably why.

@Chrissy Page I have a lot of dreams about water, but I'm a water sign, and love water, so it's no surprise.

My most difficult dreams involve not being able to find my car in the parking lot, losing my purse, falling down stairs..ohh...miserable dreams.

@Karen McKenzie I used to have a lot of those types of dreams, usually when I was particularly struggling with something in real life and felt out of control and anxious. I still feel out of control, but in a different way. I try to focus these days on accomplishments and mastering small tasks/projects, and I think that's helped me somewhat, so I'm more of an active participant in my dreams these days, unlike at some points in the past.

Thanks for your insight, Diane...I'm the same...when I have more than a few stressors going..I think my mind just dumps it into these frustrating dreams about misplaced everything...and the biggie..falling down stairs..which ironically I really did and I wasn't hurt..I was 18...at a party..opened a door I thought was the bathroom..took a step and next thing I knew there was this light at the top of the stairs...and everyone around me..lol. They thought I was really hurt and were freaking out.

I will say this..it's not something I'd want to do again. :)

The two women represent something or someone, but only your unconscious mind knows what or whom that might be..we can only guess. Former bossy teachers? Relatives? Mother?

@Karen McKenzie , my grandson fell down the stairs the exact same way. He broke his clavicle.

I used to have dreams frantically trying to dial a pay phone but I kept dialing wrong. It upset me more than I can say.

I have those frantic type dreams too, Ruby. Pay Phone, locker combination, anything like that. I hate those dreams the most and am happy when I wake up.

Okay @Diane Lane...I'm probably way off base here...but I'm going with my first thoughts about your dreams since I read about them about a few day ago. And I'm just going to ask you this? Could those dreams be about unresolved business between your ex and you? Do you still have strong feelings for him but their was "darkness" in your marriage that could not be resolved and your heart still wonders whether there is still a chance that you could "kill" that scorpion that poisioned your marriage back then?

I'm probably way off base off here...but there's a part of me that's hearing a cry of the heart here for the fulfillment of dreams that were destroyed by that "scorpion".
