Yum! That sounds like something I should make, and soon! I was just talking to a friend about the 'good old days' when Fuddruckers had huge vats of sauerkraut to put on the burgers. I love sauerkraut, and grew up eating that with kielbasa! Corn on the cob sounds delicious, too.

My wife made enchiladas, I made guacamole, and Fritos made corn chips. Added some home canned salsa and had a tasty meal.

That sounds delicious. I grilled some pork chops, corn on the cob, and potatoes.

Nothing but a salad so far today. I think this evening I'll have a liver cheese sandwich and a pickle.

I'll make some rice later, and finish off my last bbq pork chop and beets. I'd better start planning for tomorrow's dinner now ;).

HAHAHA! We ate reeeal healthy tonight! We had Sloppy Joes, chips and chocolate chip ice cream. Today was my first day off in a week, and I was just craving something yummy, with hamburger in it. It sure hit the spot! I guess tomorrow, we'll have some sort of chicken something or another. I'm tired of trying to come up with innovative ideas. I love it when I crave something, cause that's what I'll eat, and I don't have to think about it too much. :D

I have just bought a load of wild garlic and that is going to be the basis for an egg salad at lunchtime. Wild garlic is absolutely gorgeous - you can steam it gently, like spinach, you can use it in salads or add it to sandwiches. It's quite nice to munch on, as well, not having the vigorous pungency of bulb garlic. The only problem at the moment is the weather in Scotland. It's not really salad weather - we're supposed to be approaching summer and it's grey, windy and not very warm, so I'll have to pretend it's warm and sunny outside.

Those are cool, Diane but not what I was thinking about. LOL, perhaps they are just in my imagination! BTW, sorry it took me so long to respond. Guess I fell off a rock!

I never heard of wild garlic, Tom. Do you have a pic? Plenty warm and sunny over here, but even when I was living in the States, winter or summer, I would enjoy a salad.

    Wild garlic coming up:

It's quite common in the UK, although very seasonal. Luckily, my local fruit and veg shop gets a regular supply during the season. I think it's coming to the end in the next couple of weeks, so I'm enjoying the last of it for a while.

Thanks, Tom! Looks like a plant we have here but not sure if it is edible. Now, do you eat the flowers, the leafs or all of it?

The leaf is the main thing, but you can eat the flowers without anything nasty happening. Wild garlic grows in woodlands and needs quite damp conditions, so Scotland isn't a bad environment for it!

There are so many wild plants that are not only edible, but very tasty. I'm not very good at spotting them, though. I knew a girl that studied botany at university and going for a walk with her was always interesting, as she would suddenly dash off, pick something that looked like a bunch of weeds, then come back and say, "this is good in a salad." I'd be hopeless, though - I'd just poison myself if I tried.

Someone shared this on another forum I'm a member of, and it sounds like maybe you'd like to look at it: http://www.wildfoodandrecipes.co.uk/2010/06/ultimate-guide-to-edible-wild-and.html
