Testing for photo. OK now If someone could tell me the correct size to put on I would be grateful. How about some sky photographs to start with Approaching storm [/IMG]
Locals said I had 5 minutes to get back to the hotel...I made it in four before the heavens opened Pat. Another photo I took in Norfolk as a storm was leaving
I keep mine about 600-700 pixel width. Although the forum software will correct overly large photos, as far as the display goes, it still takes up unnecessary bandwidth.
Good to know. I will start to reduce mine more. My cam snaps at about 5mb and I have been reducing them to 25% but I will now do at 15%. Test now: Still plenty big!
Thank you for the advice Ken. As I cannot now alter my photos on this topic, I deleted them from Photobucket, but it didn't delete them here, so my apologies.
My camera is always set on the maximum - that's 4,000 pixels in width. But when uploading in forums, I trim my photos to 1,200 pixels in width. It can be smaller though but I don't want to compromise the resolution. As long as the forum will accept that big photo then it's okay for me to wait for the slow uploading. I used to downsize my photos before to save on storage but I guess it's not a good practive. Small photos are not appropriate for large printing like a billboard or a tarp. So now I just the large photos in my archive disk and cropping comes only when needed.
