That is a really strange picture that you posted with the rabbit head placed on our Lord and Savior, @Lara Moss ! What website did you find it on ?
I think that it must be related to the transformation of the traditional Passover to the pagan Easter celebration.
The word Easter was first used in the King James Bible, and it was used there after the crucifixion of Jesus, which happened just before Passover.
Then King Herod, who was a pagan, refers to it in Acts, chapter 12, when he talks about arresting Peter during the week of unleavened bread (which comes after passover) and then putting him out to the people after Easter, which was the pagan fertility celebration.
Pagans used the egg and rabbit as fertility symbols for their celebration to Ishtar, from which the word 'easter" is derived.
Possibly, your picture is depicting the change from celebrating the Biblical Passover, to the melding with the pagan Easter (eggs and bunnies) fertility celebration.
It might be clearer if you can tell us what website this picture is from ? I looked for it, and found some pictures that were similar; but not that one.

    I googled "easter rabbit gifs".
This GIPHY website was at the top of the list and carries nothing but GIF images:
    giphy.com/search/easter/13

I then clicked on the small picture to get a bigger one and it took me to:
    http://giphy.com/gifs/dvdp-temp-TyFOhOEIfJuqQ

It says it came from TUMBLR.
It had this next to the pic: #dvdp #easter

Hmmmm.... it's an Easter rabbit head on the body of Jesus... yeah, I'd say it's pretty sacrilegious. But I'm not really into mocking the resurrection, so I really have no idea what this means.

Okay, I deleted it. But I didn't see it as "mocking the resurrection".
I looked at it as a creative spoof on the easter bunny and the religious meaning of easter.
Much like the many fine art paintings like the Mona Lisa. But I wasn't sure because I know all of the religious holidays are seen to have pagan roots by someā€¦so I asked if anyone knew for sure.

That's what's so great about each of us having our own opinions, isn't it? :) Out of curiosity, would you feel the same about seeing, oh say, the face of Christ on a Santa Claus body? Or a step further, on a prophet Mohammad body as a "spoof?" It didn't feel right to me... maybe others thought it was comical... or whatever. But not feeling right to *me* was no reason to remove it. Others may have had something to say about it, no?

Okay, I can see the picture as being a morphing of thoughts and activities which surround the holiday commemorating the resurrection of Jesus Christ. That's pretty much a given, a stretch, but a given.
Now, let's think this through. Jesus, who was sinless sporting the head of something that is predominantly known for it's incredible ability to procreate with multiple partners. hmmmm..........

Another thought. When someone depicts Mohammed wrongly, does not an entire grouping of Islamists automatically go to war because it defaces their deity? Are we less passionate about ours or are we just a good bunch of tolerant people sitting in our own complacency and singing Koombaya?

And still, a last thought. Would God find it humorous or fun to have His Son depicted with an animal head? Not sure but He clearly has some reservations stated in the commandments handed down to Moses. Certainly, God does know the heart and no one can judge the heart except Him. As for me, I do find the whole thing distasteful but again, only God knows what is in the hearts of His children.

It seems, my dear Mari, that we are pretty much on the same page both mentally and on the forum.
    Strange.........but nice.

Yes.... :) but you *do* say things much more eloquently than I do. I tend to blurt out in the heat of my emotions whatever's on my mind (or more often my heart) and then spend days wondering why I couldn't have said something more gently. But I guess that wouldn't be me any longer... so I'll carry on and hope people who know me will write some of it off with a chuckle and a "Oh, that's just Mari being Mari."

Good point. In a word (make that two words) Charlie Hebdo. That's *precisely* what Charlie Hebdo was about.
