I'm not sure how many of y'all are familiar with this phenomenon, but many places have specials on Fridays, called Freebie Friday. At least one of my local television stations covers the subject, and it often includes free entry into events/sites, buy one get one deals, totally free items, and other such specials.

Kroger has their own version, where you can go to the website, sign in, and click on Savings. Under Savings, you can load various coupons to your Kroger loyalty card, and each week, there is a specific item that you can load to your card that will be free, which is their designated Friday Freebie . The coupons and Freebie Friday deals usually stay on your card for up to a couple of weeks. Last week, the deal was a free package of Meow Mix cat treats, and of course I uploaded that, and picked them up the other day while I was at the store.

Another way to find out about Freebie Friday deals is to go to Twitter (you don't need to have a Twitter account to view the hashtagged posts) and check out the #FreebieFriday hashtag. You can click this link and it will take you there.

How I wish we have that Freebie Friday. The only good events in malls are the month-end sales but not really as huges as the Christmas sales. Last year there was a Thanksgiving sale although we are not Americans, huh. The commercialism is extending far and wide as to acquire non-traditional events like Halloween.

But anyway, I am already excited on that upcoming Thanksgiving sale, hoping that they would surprise me with big discounts. From what I remember, last year's was focused on clothing items from the US and UK. It was a good time to shop for items intended for Christmas gifts.

So far on Oahu in Hawaii we don't have any freebie Fridays that I know of. We have Safeway $5 Fridays and it's caught on really quickly! I'll check twitter for the freebie Fridays from time to time to see if we have anything in Hawaii for it. Thanks for the info to save money! :)

@Holly Saunders Maybe it's time to tell companies there that the people want freebie Fridays? Most of the news stations here talk about the deals on air, and they're all over social media, so perhaps you could contact the stores or the press and propose it? I'm always mentioning things like that on social media in the hope that companies will take a hint.

Today's Freebie Friday at Kroger is a Marie Callender 10 oz. Pot Pie or Fruit Pie. I snapped that e-coupon right up, and can't wait to use it. https://kroger.softcoin.com/program...60311_ENTERPRISE&banner=Kroger&origin=freefri

Wife downloads Kroger Friday Freebies and lots of additional e-coupons. The e-coupons can save quite a bit on specific items. Every once in a while, the Friday Freebie is something we can use.

I downloaded mine for the Marie Callender pie, too; now I have to try and remember to go and look for one the next trip to Krogers. I still have the last several of them (which were for different brands of candy bars) that I didn't get, and never think about when I am at the store.
Even when I do think about it, I don't remember what the brand name was, and it seems that it only shows up on Fridays, and the rest of the days, I just see regular coupons.
I keep telling myself that I should write down what the free download was, and then when I get to the store, I can at least tell what I am supposed to get.
Most of the time, it seems like it is either candy, or some other item that is full of sugar; so not something I want to be buying anyway; but occasionally they have something that I do want to try.
I like the loadable discount coupons, and add anything I might possibly use, just in case I find it on a good sale and decide to buy it.

I don't know what your printer and ink situation is @Yvonne Smith, but I'll often write down the Freebies and any other good e-coupons I'll be using, since I don't have a cell phone to pull the website up when I'm at the store, and ink for my printer is pretty expensive. I also had trouble locating the candy bars in store. I believe the Freebie Friday usually states that it may not be available in every store, and I think mine may not have carried the last two candy bars/chocolates, because I looked in the Easter and also candy aisles a few times, then gave up. I'm sure I could have stood in line and asked at Customer Service, but I don't have that much patience these days. If I don't see something within a few minutes of beginning my search, I move on. The yogurts are confusing as well, because there are so many varieties, and some of the labels look very similar. I added the Marie Callender pie to my hand written list, because that's one I definitely don't want to miss out on.

Robin gave us her printer when she got a new one; so we do have a working printer, and it connects with wifi; so I could print the coupons from my ipad. However, I am such an old Stick-In-the-Mud about wasting anything that i just can't see wasting a whole piece of paper to print one tiny little coupon, and cut it out and take it to the store.
It has to be REALLY important before i will do that !
Anyway, even though I do have a smartphone, and can acces the kroger ad from the store (I actually put it on the phone just for that reason), it only shows the Free Friday Download coupons on Friday ; so if I am there shopping on my usual Sunday morning shopping trip, I still can't access the information to find the right item to get for free.

Several times, I have asked for a clerk to help me, and even they have given me the wrong item a few times. The store was putting a display of the weekly item up near the checkout stands and that made it much easier to find it, and probably also helped to sell some to people who didn't have the download. Lately, I haven't found that either; so I guesss I will have to harass them about it again.

I already completed my survey, or I'd have mentioned that in my comments. I was thinking as I stood in line to check out how much easier it would be to find the Freebies if they were placed in a special display at the front, but I guess the intention is to have people search for them and come across other products in the process that they will ultimately purchase.

By the way @Yvonne Smith, when you go to Kroger, make sure you double check that you select the 10 oz. pie, not the 16 oz. one. They were out of chicken pot pies in the 10 oz. size. I was rushing, and almost grabbed the 16 oz. one at first, then noticed some boxes were slightly larger than others. There were plenty of turkey pot pies, but those are my least favorite, so I picked up a beef pie. How are you logging in to see the coupons while you're at the store? I know on the website, there's a way to look at all of your coupons. If the app isn't letting you do that, you might try logging into the mobile version of their website and see if you can access your coupon list in that way.
