We'd never go back and doubt if Best Buy would ever sell this stuff.

We don't use our Selfie Stick that often, but do take it with us some places. If it isn't allowed (better be a sign stating that), I'd just keep it in the camera case.

To much "upgrading" for me when what we had still worked just fine and still does. I'm old school all the way in "use it up, wear it out, or if it breaks and can't be fixed...then upgrade." I don't Text either, but thank God I have a quick mind that can figure out most abbreviations. In fact, yesterday when I was shopping with my daughter she was trying to find a baseball glove for her daughter and a sign under the gloves she was looking at had IF and OF...and she asked me what that meant. At first I looked at it and told her I didn't know...then looked at it again and my brain kicked in and I told her that it meant In Field or Out Field. ;)

Funny that you mention about grandparents being the way they are and how parents have to be the other way. Wife and I seen her sister (my SIL) get into a little trouble with her daughter a few times for allowing SIL granddaughter to do something that the mom didn't want done. Guess depending on the family, friction could definitely happen between parents and grandparents.

True, but in my case my daughter doesn't mind. So there isn't any friction and everybody knows that although I'm fun and cooler than their mom, they won't get away with anything that I would consider wrong.

My daughter and I have the same values and morals so we think alike. I do make sure though when I'm watching them for a week, I ask what is allowed and what isn't allowed and I follow that.

Babs, is that a camera you are holding in your avatar? Is it a "high-tech" camera, like the new one we just got with a number of "bells and whistles" that I love. However, it did take me a few hours to figure out how to connect WiFi from our new camera to our iPhone6, so we could use the iPhone as a remote for the camera.
I'm just a modern-day "techy" type person, but, that only goes so far. Only thing is, a person still has to have VHS tapes and cassette tapes to use either the VCR or Cassette Player. It's not easy finding movies to buy for a VCR and it's been years since I've seen a cassette sold anywhere, but maybe on Amazon.

It's just a Canon Powershot SX120IS. It has a few bells and whistles...at least the ones I need to snap my pics with and some I never use at all. But for being high tech...it probably was a few or more years ago when I bought it but to many upgrades on it to really be high tech now. I took that Selfie yesteday because me with my camera is just more me. :) You are right about them not making cassettes anymore, but a lot of the music I love is on the cassettes I have and although they did upgrade a lot of those cassettes to CD's that I could buy at Walmart for $5 or less, some they haven't and therefore I keep those cassettes to play when the mood hits me. Music stirs my soul and soothes all my emotions, etc.
As for buying VCR movies... they upgraded alot of those to DVD's for $5 or less too. And a few years ago you could hit Garage sales and pick up VCR movies for pocket change. Don't do Garage Sales anymore but they might still have some for sale at some of those.

The problem that I could see happening with any combo equipment (VCR/DVD or TV/VCR) is that when one needs repair, have to take the entire thing in for the one item to be repaired. With separate items, that wouldn't be done.
