What are you talking about, Cody, with that HD and cable silliness? I have an antenna, and I get true HD, as does everyone!

    (From the internet):
Q: Can I really receive high-definition channels for free using a TV antenna?
A: YES! With a TV antenna, you will experience HDTV in the highest quality picture and sound available. Over-the-air broadcasts are transmitted in uncompressed, crystal-clear 1080i, far surpassing what cable and satellite offer. Many local broadcasts are digitally aired in Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound, giving you the ultimate soundstage for watching live television from major networks including ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, PBS, The CW, and many more. No tricks, no bills, no subscriptions. All you need is a TV antenna!

Trevalius, guess you don't know about apartment living. We live in an apartment complex, not a house, residents can't put up an antenna. Like our last complex, Direct TV and Dish aren't allowed either. Both use a dish and it's against rental agreement to install.

And, HD tv's aren't sold, like the old tv's were, with an antenna to put on the set.

Cody, you are quite the entertainer! I have a TV set. It has an antenna, in my house. I get HD. Now, if apartment complex goons come in, each day, to check your TV connections, well, old friend, you might want to move. I haven't lived in an apartment since 1978, so maybe all apartment complexes have "Antenna Squads" to keep you on the up and up!

How's your comedy routine coming along? You're missing your shot at stardom, Cody, the longer you wait to take your act to the stage!

Our tv didn't come with an antenna and we are quite happy paying for our cable Comcast. And, BTW, I'm not a comedian, even though my wife loves my humor.

Other than four years of our marriage, we have lived in an apartment. That is 16 years, living in apartments. No so-called "Antenna Squads", but like I said "we are happy with our cable." We pay extra for a sports package that is good.

Actually, until I just done some online research, Trevalius, I didn't even know a person could buy an indoor antenna for a HD tv. As the old saying goes, "learn something everyday."

Funny, but yesterday I learned about dairy cows and how their meat is used after they can no longer produce milk. Also, about what happens to egg-laying chicken hens after they no longer produce eggs.

I can't think of any old show that I miss. When I have seen an old show that I used to love, it seems so corny and dated now.

When TV first started many of the shows really were corny, but we all watched them every week, anyway. lol

I was without a TV by choice for several years, off and on, so I missed a lot of them.

Recently got hooked on Breaking Bad and missed that one when it went off.

My favorites were Mary Tyler Moore, All in the Family, Seinfeld, Frazier, Cheers. But they had all run out of steam by the time they went off the air.

I seriously think the old show, All In The Family, wouldn't make it at all today. Why? Well, old Archie Bunker (Carroll O'Connor) sure made a fuss when Sammy Davis Jr. kissed him on the cheek. Very surprising to many watchers, as well as very funny.

IOW, "racial" type stuff old Archie though of.

I used to watch the series with Ben Gazzara as the New York advertizing executive, called "Have Suit, Will Commute".

My step-parents loved watching Lawrence Welk on Saturday nights. Use to have either a bowl of popcorn or ice cream during the show. That was our Saturday night supper.
Now, did I like Lawrence Welk Show...........yes and no. Big Band music didn't do much for my "music listening pleasure". LOL

Boy, when telling which tv show we all miss, we also indicate how old many of us are. People born before the Baby Boomer Generation watched shows that were older.

I still remember watching a few game shows that showed the Host and the Judges smoking cigarettes.

That was-uh wunnerful, girls. Und now, the boys of the band vuhd like to do a leetle number for yu. Eet's called, "Tiny Bubbles." Uh one, and-uh two, and-uh three, and-uh......

While I wasn't nuts about LW, I did pick up some pointers on leading a band, from him. Six years later, I was leading my own band, and that went on until just a year ago.

Out of sure curiosity, what instrument did you play? I was in a small band (Lead, Bass, Rhythm, Keyboard and me (drums). Played a set of Ludwig's, and played classic rock music. I remember playing Wipe Out by the Safaris. Spotlight on me! Love a keyboard in a band, like Styx, Deep Purple and others.
