When I want to use an emoticon, no matter where my cursor is within the text, why does it always end up at the beginning of my post? Why can’t we put it within the post wherever we want?
I don't know. I don't have that problem. Are you using a real computer or a tablet? I have trouble placing things in specific places in my posts when I use a tablet, but I always attributed that to the fact that I rarely use my tablet to access the forum.
Always use a "real" computer. I don't have a tablet. Like right now I want to put a smiley HERE --> but as always it shows up at the beginning of the post. Ken, could you or someone try placing an emoticon within the text and see how it posts?
This is a test on the use of emoticons. I don't often use emoticons but I think I have placed them in the middle of a line before and yes -- -- it does appear to work fine, just as I would expect, by placing the cursor wherever I want the emoticon -- -- to appear. Is anyone else having a problem with this, or might you know why @Arlene Richards is having trouble with it?
So am I...can't imagine what's happening with yours Arlene... Look I can put mine anywhere I like I do wish there was more of a variety of emoticons on here tho'...
This happens to me sometimes @Arlene Richards I find after you open the smiley box place the cursor where you want it again and then click on the emoticon. If this fails, the other thing you can do is simply drag and drop the emoticon from the wrong place, to the place you want it to be, just left click your mouse on it and drag it.
I use this place for extra emoticons and store some downloaded ones on my desktop, but usually forget to use them, will have another cuppa now. Here a few of hundreds on the site just copy and paste.
I've never used the sites emoticons, I just type the colon and the parenthesis and it shows up as a smiley face wherever I put it. I'll try using one from the toolbar and see where it goes and I'm on an iPad. Worked on my ipad.
