First thing I see this morning is this and it had set me off:

    https://www.nbcdfw.com/entertainmen...waynes-name-statue-taken-off-airport/2397046/
This nation is crumbling before or eyes . We have lost ourselves along the way of trying to make America Great Again.
We appeared more stable in the past, good or bad.
We should not be held accountable for all the bad things those before us have said or done.
We do not have to agree with the past, but we must accept the fact that in the past people were not educated like today. They said and did many things that by today's standards may be wrong.
White people have rights also and we deserve to see, hear and belive in or deny any part of history we chose. In order to that you must see and hear it all.
I resist and refuse to support any person, business or organisation that continues to support the changing of American history simply because it may offend.

Lots of people wired wrong. Makes no sense whatsoever, and until the average citizen begins to take action himself, this will continue as the law is doing zilch.

It’s my opinion mind you, but I truly believe it isn’t about history or at least, not any longer.
It’s a type of blood lust that these, [I dare say] terrorists have tasted and want more of. For each bit of destruction that they have managed to perform, they feel powerful and even more powerful the more destruction that they can get away with.
Oh, they’ve tried to give a reason for it like this person owned slaves or that person condoned slavery but in reality, it is only about getting that adrenaline rush that predicates a feeling of power achieved. But there’s a problem.
I liken it to crack addiction and the reasoning for it. No matter how much crack a person smokes, there’s only one rush and they know it but a person, any person, will spend all they have trying to chase that one single rush to attain another one that will not come.

I watched a video yesterday that had a mob of young people who were trying to deface and / or tear down the Andrew Jackson monument.
The cops were there wearing gas masks and dispersed the crowd using gas and I think rubber bullets. I heard some pop-pops every now and then which is why I think they were using the less lethal rubber bullets but I digress.

Now as the crowd was being forcibly dispersed, several people would turn and were yelling at the police and it wasn’t about slavery or black lives matter or police brutality. They were angry and having child like tantrums because they weren’t being allowed to do what they wanted which was to tear down the statue. They were daring and calling the cops every name in the book which I liken to the “I Hate You” retort of a child to a parent who denies that child whatever he or she wants.
In short, they weren’t allowed to get that rush of power that they are now addicted to and to deny them of the opportunity to get it is, well, kinda like taking candy from a baby.

Now, how to handle it, I do not know. Face Book has “Try to Identify” pictures of people caught on camera destroying stuff but how many jail cells are there and will that help?
Again, dunno. We’re caught between the Constitution and a rock and I write that because there are definitely other countries that have developed methods to handle such things which to me, are barely if at all acceptable.

We have all seen the pictures and watched the videos of the screaming antifa rioters attacking innocent people and trashing national monuments, and wondered why the cities just stand by and let them do it, and even order the police to stand down. It really does seem like a nation gone nuts, as @Gloria Mitchell points out. Bobby and I have been saying the same thing.
It is almost like people got some sort of “crazy pill” , and have lost the ability to think and reason, and are simply just reacting more like some feral creature would do.

It looks like people are standing up to antifa, though. We saw the pictures of small-town Coeur d’Alene, Idaho , where Antifa was met with people wearing camouflage and carrying their rifles.
Here is a picture from Seattle, where patriots decided to make an example of one antifa guy that they caught. (I know that this is maybe pushing the boundaries here, but I wanted to share it anyway, so am posting it as a thumbnail, and you can enlarge it at your own risk. )
Hopefully this kept him immobile until the police got there to arrest him.

I have to agree with you Lois. In the cities where the law is literally being torn up to make way for the terrorist crowds, it’s up to Joe and Sally Patriot to make aright this floundering ship.

I especially dislike their characterization of the patriots as "trying to inspire anarchy on the streets." It seems the opposite is true to me, that they are trying to encourage something like less chaos. I generally am sympathetic to the protests. I'm not sympathetic to destruction and terrorism.

There is a story that Jerry Clower used to tell about a couple of guys who were out raccoon hunting. The dogs had tree’d a raccoon and one of the hunters by the name of John climbed the tree to knock the raccoon out of where it was hidden in the branches and leaves. As it turned out, the raccoon wasn’t a raccoon at all but an angry bobcat.
A fight ensued between John and the bobcat and whilst that was happening the hunter at the bottom of the tree, unable to see what was really going on kept yelling, “knock ‘im out John”!
It seems that John was having more than he could handle with the bobcat so he started yelling at the other hunter to “Shoot, Shoot” but the other hunter declined by yelling “but I might hit You” to which John yelled back the infamous line, “Well shoot up amongst us and give one of us some relief”!

It is as such with the parties involved with these skirmishes of violence. We have one BLM member on video saying that Antifa and other people are underscoring what the peaceful protesting Black Lives Matter movement is about whilst another member saying they will burn the “system” to the ground if they do not get what they want....immediately. As far as Antifa goes, their statements are just as opposing.
Spokesperson after spokesperson for all of these “crusaders” come on the air with so many opposing statements that we, John Q. Public cannot tell what the realities really are but all the rubble and carnage left behind in their wake is telling a tale all by itself which is one that the American people are not going to stand for much longer.

Peaceful protest is a guaranteed right but if for whatever reason there is one piece of property damaged or one person hurt, it’s not peaceful any longer and the culprits of that kind of dissension need to be stopped,.........and maybe give one of ‘em some relief.

Bobby, your Clower story is great. "give one of us some relief." So funny.
BTW, in my last post i used the term "patriot" which I'm very uncomfortable with. To me the term can imply xenophobia, misogyny, and/or racism. Ultra-conservatives or alt-righters consider themselves more patriotic than the rest of us and I heartily disagree with that. Anyway, I used the term because their seemed to be no other to use without going into an involved disclaimer.

Hey Dwight, we both like your Avatar! Actually, my wife was an "extra" in Air Force One. When Harrison, as President of the United States, was giving a terrorist speech at a banquet. She was sitting at one of the tables.

Love him in Star Wars as well.

It took me a moment until I realized that the word “patriot” you used is one of their own personal designations to describe themselves but not necessarily a label that most citizens will accept.

Perhaps the word does mean different things to each person. I am, a nationalist by definition therefore a patriot. Right or wrong, this is my country and I love it enough to follow the Constitution to enjoy what is right and at the same time have the ability to peacefully change what is wrong.

To others, being a patriot includes destroying the very foundation of this country and re-invent it to obtain something greater for themselves which to me, is anti-nationalism and ultimately dangerous and not for the greater good.

The reason I use Harrison Ford's picture is this: we are both very handsome but I'm even handsomer than him. I'm afraid if I post my own picture that some women will become obsessed with me and stalk me.

    Cody,
I was an extra also in the movie Failure To Launch with Matthew McConaughey and Sarah Jessica Parker partially shot close where I live. Sarah was very sweet in person and had the most beautiful smile you ever saw. Matthew McConaughey was not so personable and wouldn't have much to do with us lowly extras. I never appeared onscreen. They actually used very little of the footage we extras appeared in. I did, however, meet one of the other extras. She was a very attractive woman with this unusual characteristic: she had one brilliantly blue eye and one brilliantly green. Her eyes weren't just a little different from each other - they were strikingly different. I didn't think before this that such a thing was even possible. I kind of fell in love but it seems she was already spoken for.

If we truly wish to slow down the spread of Coronavirus, we have to have more riots!! ....or maybe not.

I caught the tail end of a commentary on the radio so I do not know which university performed the study but the premise was pretty simple:
Because of the riots, more people stay home out of fear and because people stay home the spread of the virus is slowing down. Riots, as opposed to going to a wedding or having a BBQ, scares most people hence more people stay home.

On the other hand, another study shows that people who stay home are more apt to catch the virus because they are at close quarters. The obvious cure for that is to go out and riot and as a matter of fact, why not help someone out and burn their house down so they won’t catch the disease. It’s a great way to show how much you love your neighbor.

And then, there’s the other fear that because of the riots and protests and lack of face coverings, the virus is going to go uh...well.....viral.
In my way of thinking, if there were a law imposed on the rioters which would forbid more than 6 or 7 people per mob and each mob safe distance themselves from the other mobs by say....a half block, the spread would be curtailed considerably. They could even flip coins to see which mob tears down the statue and which one ransacks a liquor store, which one is outfitted with spray cans of paint and which one beats people up.

Maybe, we could find a way to stay home and riot at the same time!

    I’ve confused myself.......

Don't swallow all you see from all the media outlets. I see nothing of what's portrayed from them where I live, and I'm sure most folks here have not either. To me, it's more like watching a movie, and when it's over, you walk outside and things are much like they have always been. I have to believe this turmoil is instigated to make the Trump administration look bad in an election year. Don't forget, they tried everything else.
