Just trying to be funny, Craig. . I've got to stop doing that. ;)

However, it's true I don't care much for conflict, competition, drama, and roller coaster rides. I'd rather watch from a distance.

I gotta say that out of all these events that have been called off.. I'm betting the fabulous Vivid Sydney will disappoint people the most.. specially tourists who flock to this annual event. Just look at this.

My rant for today, so far, is simply this; it is a given that we all do not share the same religious or political beliefs. If you do not agree with one's comment on these topics, you would do well to refrain from mocking or stating negative remarks, simply based on how you feel. I do not care what you believe in, makes no difference to me whatsoever, but if I do state something I will report you if you mock me or anyone else in any way.

In a personally applied comparative study, it seems that many times when I am doing some work someone comes along and wants to give advice on how they would do it.
There have been, however, those times when I have had enough of someone’s advice that I have gotten off a ladder and handed a paint brush to the onlooker and told them to go ahead and do it or whilst in a professional kitchen, I have handed someone a chef knife and given them a chance to show their mettle just to have my offer sheepishly turned down.

It’s funny (but not funny as in ha-ha) but I get the same feeling of angst when I hear those anti-Trumpers in the media spouting off and saying how terrible the President and his chosen few are handling the present medical crisis.
To me, no one INCLUDING the President would want this kind of weight on their shoulders but yet, the very negative onlookers act and speak as though they could do things soooo much better.

I cannot even imagine how the President is handling his emotions but if he were anything like me, the President would simply step down from the dais and hand someone the American Flag pin from his lapel and say, “Here, You Do It” !
As of this very minute, every person who gets infected and dies is now your fault. Every plea for help from every mayor and governor that isn’t answered immediately is now your fault. I’m putting you in charge, go for it! I’ll handle everything else but the virus is now your problem.
And by the way, you do not make a paycheck whilst doing it.

There is one thing I do know for sure and that is that I cannot do and handle things any better than the President is presently doing so I for one citizen am keeping my mouth shut and keeping my critiques to myself. I just wish many others would do the same.

[IMG]My rant for today is I hate that this bloody virus is killing our lifestyle. Like Americans, Australians are adventurous people. We like getting out into the great outdoors in our great climate and passing our time fishing, camping, swimming, playing sports, having picnics, driving, walking in the park, eating at outdoor cafes and restaurants. Perhaps even an outdoor music concert. Indoors we have the cinema, concerts, museums, seeing a play or the opera or ballet. All of of these have now been denied us. It is like going back to the dark ages when there was little to satisfy our hunger for adventure and enjoyment.

In many ways being a country leader is like marriage vows.. "for better or for worse".Your president has tasted plenty of "betters" since being elected.. actually being elected was no doubt the pinnacle. Now he is facing the "worse" side of this marriage to the American people. Much will depend on whether he can weather the storm of COVID-19 and its devastating consequences if he is seen as worthy of re-election. As a footnote; Scott Morrison is weathering the storm in Aussieland. His popularity has soared during this virus crisis.

    Okay, soap box time !
No matter what the fake news tells people, Donald Trump did NOT want to be president ! He has consistently been asked that question in interviews over the years, way back to at least 1980, and he always had the same reply, and this is what he always said.
He did not want to run for president, but if there ever came a time when his country needed him, then he would do it.

Donald Trump is a billionaire, he is successful beyond belief, he has a wonderful family, and they all love each other.
He had no reason not to just relax and enjoy his life and spend time with his grandchildren, which he loves to do.

He is in his 70’s, he is not a politician, this is not his career. There was no good reason for him to even spend his time and money to run for president.
He paid for his campaign, and he has donated every single bit of his salary to help our veterans, and other good causes, while the people who rail against him don’t donate anything, and actually whine for more money for their salary.

Donald Trump is a man with a mission, and he is doing his very best to take care of his beloved country.
He is doing it because he believes that his country NEEDS good leadership.
I think that once he gets things looking good for this country, he won’t run for President again, should he be able to finish his mission before this fall .
Unfortunately, instead of working with our president, the democrat liberals and republican liberals, and all of the corporation-owned news media, have worked against our president, making his job nearly impossible.

What man would risk not only his life, but his family’s life, and subject himself to unrelenting attacks and underhanded responses, from the people that he is trying to save ?
Not very many people would have even tried to do this, but President Trump just takes everything in his stride and keeps going.
That man is a TRUE PATRIOT ! !

You can look on YouTube and see interviews over the years, and hear Donald Trump say that he does not want to be president, but he is concerned about the country, and would do anything he was able to do to help the United States. This man was well liked until he started to challenge the liberal agenda in this country.

True and I seriously believe that the majority of the American people have a positive outlook concerning D Trump.

The thing is, guys like Acosta and his crew at CNN and a few others in the media are looking at electing a Dem and that Dem is probably going to be Biden. Now Joe Biden, our past Vice President was weak when he was in office and now he is even weaker and probably mentally incapacitated to some degree so the media is doing everything they can to diminish what the President has already accomplished in order to squeak a lesser man into office.

It’s all politics on the part of the left and it seems as though those who proclaim that they know how to handle things better (but don’t or they’d be doing it) are really pushing to get a Dem into office without thinking of the welfare of the American public.

Pardon the way I put it but Pelosi, Schumer and the rest of the DNC seem to be having multiple orgasms watching the economy crash and the proof of that is when Pelosi closed the house because it was her birthday when the “stimulus” bill was sitting on the podium for review by the House. Every one of them left smiling (and probably wanting a cigarette). And if that ain’t a major wedgie then perhaps the fact that one of our governors just proposed a higher tax rate for his state when over half the population is sequestered and / or out of work.
Yet, all these cats say they can and would do things better. What a bunch of low life idiots!

My son could be writing those words Bobby. He is also a Trump true believer. So Yvonne he never wanted to be president. Passion is not usually a big driver in politics. Australia has two similar patriots to Trump in self made billionaire Clive Palmer and millionaire Dick Smith. Palmer stood in the last federal election as an small party independent. He used similar passionate rhetoric to Trump and like him he funded his own campaign. Like all independents he won a minority of votes and failed to enter parliament. Dick Smith flew a helicopter around the world before taking on the multi national food companies that were buying Aussie companies and taking them offshore, by starting his own food company. It flourished for almost a decade before it went under when he ran out of capital. America's form of government allows for the Donald Trumps and Clive Palmers of this world to run for president whereas our archaic form of govt does not.
