Shoppers were like they were in a mad house @Craig Swanson I feel for the poor check out operators they are getting abused .

They are not only targeting toilet paper / soaps ect it was meats as well

OMG I looked in my freezer today ...I’d have enough meat for 3 months as well as home made soups / other meals.

I only cook every 3 days I cook enough ( veg ) for two days then have as light meal like an omelette or a toastie under the grill ( more like a pizza ) or a meal out of the freezer tonite ( pasta bake made in single serve ramekins) so why are these panic shoppers shopping like they are there is no talk of shutting our shops .......

YES our ..ports for cruise ships closed of tonite ...about time;) I SAY ..

and self isolation for 14 days for anyone coming/ flying in from OS YEAH ..who’s going to monitor that ...
I dont believe that will be followed without someone checking...after all it could create a few part time jobs
until we are free of this curse ..

Just found out my brother in law has been visiting family in Canada. Big shock when he arrives back in Sydney in a few days time with the news that he will be locked away someplace for a 14 day quarantine or as the buzz words implies..'self isolation'.

It seems that there were those who spent their time panicking and doing nothing to prepare. People who I know personally were early to panic, yet are now panicking further because they can't buy what they need in the grocery store. If you're panicking over a virus, why on earth would you want to fight with people in a crowded grocery store over a pack of toilet paper?

I did not panic, because I am confident that the virus itself is going to be nothing more than a blip in the radar, and just another strain of the cold or the flu that comes around once a year that I won't even vaccinate against. However, given the extraordinary effort on the part of the media and others to foster panic, and knowing how gullible people are, I bought what I am likely to need on Amazon.com while it was still available. I have enough toilet paper and paper towels to last us quite some time, and we already had food staples, of the sort with 7-25-year storage dates, a lot of freeze-dried foods, and a freezer of food. While I would miss a lot of the things that I like, we're not going to starve anytime soon.

Long after the gullible were predicting Armageddon, there were still all sorts of stuff available on Amazon.com. Why didn't they spend their time stocking up?

I think the younger generation need a few lessons in life from seniors on how to shop .,what to buy .make up some basic meals ,make a meal or two up and freeze anther for a “rainy day” no wonder the younger generation are panic shopping that live day to day no forethought for the future

Now I’ve had my say for the day I feel better. Ahhhh .......I can go on my merry way ..oh from tomorrow Woolworths is introducing and 7~ 8 am shopping hour for seniors only ..YEAH and how many younger ones are going to be racing in at the same time

Even on the Coast to Coast radio show, where they are supposed to be talking about sensible stuff like ghosts, remote viewing, UFOs, and Bigfoot, they spend most of the night talking about the Coronavirus, as if everyone in the world isn't sick of hearing about it by now. I slept on the couch for two nights because my wife had that nonsense on.

Makes you think. This COVID-19 started in China. Bad at first but news now is the Chinese Commo govt has got a lid on things and cases are falling. Meanwhile the virus they introduced to the world.. whether deliberately or not.. is virtually shutting down the Free West. Our economies are taking a massive hit.. which is more likely to benefit China. Their economy grows while ours (the West) flounder. Also why no word as to this virus in Commo North Korea? Seems fishy to me.

[IMG] This is very disturbing. This week our government announced no more cruise ships will be permitted to dock at Australian ports for the foreseeable future. The ban was to come into place this Sunday (tomorrow) Australian time. Two days ago the Ruby Princess embarked 2700 passengers with the knowledge that 4 passengers and I crew had tested positive for COVID -19. Some 83% of the passengers were either Australian (63%) or American (20%) are now in various parts of Sydney or further afield oblivious that they may have become infected. Our State Government medical authorities are now frantically trying to locate these passengers. Up until today Australia has only five COVID -19 fatalities and some 950 cases. This may be the ticking bomb that all Australia has been dreading.
