But sometimes when it rains...it rains with vengeance and it destroys everything, the gota fria is feared widely in Spain and happens about every 7 years....

That's the promenade that's been broken up by the heavy rain Louise...the whole area sliding into the Mediterranean sea... it was a terrible disaster, I was there at the time, fortunately no-one was killed or seriously injured but lots of homes and businesses were lost!

Beautiful area for your other home, Holly. Have you considered moving there or at least spending most of the year there when both you and hubby retire? I would, especially since your daughter is there.

I already retired there over 10 years ago chrissy...hubs remained working in London and would commute...but after several years I got bored to tears with the eternal lunches and beach culture , and the difficulties with the language even tho' I can speak enough Spanish..and the red tape and bureaucracy is a nightmare too...so I came home..but yes if we both retire we'll spend much more time at the house again, it's a beautiful place , but I wouldn't live there permanently again...and btw my daughter isn't anywhere near us in Spain LOL..she's over 6 hours (fast) drive away.....it's quicker to fly from the Uk about 2 and a half hours..probably 4and a half total including time spent at the airport to where she lives than it is to drive from our respective homes (both in Southern Spain) to visit each other

Okay, I get it! Know what you mean, guess just spending a little more time there is enough.

Holly , how terrible that happened. Heave rains can cause a lot of damage. I can only imagine what it was like to see that like you did..

I knew you were from NC Shirley but didn't know you were near me. And here I thought I'd been so savvy and secretive about keeping my exact location a secret on the world wide web :D I'm too lazy to resize pics from my camera (but plan to eventually thanks to Terry's tutelage). All of these photos are so enjoyable.

Nice Holly! I love all the glass windows. It must be light and airy in your home.

Great pictures, everyone. I love seeing where everyone lives, whether there's snow or flowers. They're all beautiful! Since we rarely get snow here, my pics look similar year round, except we have lost most of the leaves off the trees. I thought I'd finally gotten them all bagged up, but new ones appeared this week, ugh.
