This documentary series is currently on Netflix; it is called Don't F**k With Cats: Hunting an Internet Killer. I had no idea what to expect, but it was horrifying. I am by no means recommending this--I watched it yesterday and I wish I hadn't. It seems like the plot of a psychological horror movie but it is real. People like this actually exist. What's even more disturbing is that they have an audience on the internet.

I guess you watched out of curiosity, I'm glad I'm not that curious but I wonder why you didn't switch off
Things like this can haunt you for a long time, think twice in future Beth :)

I'm sure that I have watched a movie that affected me the same way to the point that I avoid them by reading the synopsis, previewing trailers, etc. to this day.

Yes, it was curiosity... and I wanted to see how they finally caught the guy. It was astonishing what it took to catch such a monster. (This documentary is about Luka Rocco Magnotta, a Canadian murderer who was convicted of killing and dismembering Lin Jun, a Chinese international student in 2012. Even though this murder was internationally notorious, I had not heard of it. )

I will add for anyone considering watching the documentary--the original sick and twisted videos that were posted on the internet are only shown in a few snippets. No actual violence is shown, but still horrifying.

Last week, we decided to watched Bad Mom's Christmas 2017. It was funny, and fairly emotional in parts, but really terrible in actions and language. Guess folks that aren't bothered by the "F" word and sexual motions, wouldn't be bothered by this movie. Both were definitely in it. Gross, just plain gross!!

We watch some docus on forensics, I still check the synopsis first, there's only so much I can take but love to see the work
dedicated officers do and to my surprise, they 'do' become emotionally attached to the case

I am always fascinated by true crime and forensics shows, and spend a lot of time watching shows on the Investigation Discovery channel. The depravity and true evil of some people never fails to amaze me.

Von--I just want to say that this is a documentary, not a movie. It is actual events which makes it all the more disturbing.

Yes, I know the same goes for documentaries but don't get me started on those.

I like crime documentaries, but I have to be careful which ones I watch or out of nowhere, it gets way too graphic. I'm not a prude, but visual violence can really mess with my peace. However, I've done the same thing you did and then regretted it.

As a former O.R. nurse, I have participated in all types of surgery and it never bothered me one iota, but all I have to do is see a film or read of dismemberment and I get sick to my stomach. Just reading Beth's thread made me ill. I guess when one is for the health of and individual it's ok by me and vice versa. Never really thought about it until now. Interesting.
