I love cricket. Nothing nicer and more relaxing than sitting watching the local cricket team on the village green on a Sunny Sunday afternoon.... Our local cricket team, on the village green.....
Yes kind of similar in that they both use a bat and ball..different types of bats and balls, but still....
I understood that baseball developed from a combination of cricket and rounders. It is different from both, but similar in some ways supposedly. American football developed from Rugby. One of my grandfathers was a big rugby player here and in Scotland supposedly.
We all played rounders at school in Scotland...whereas the English kids played cricket.... ..and of course Rugby is a great game , I much prefer it to football ( soccer)
Played Rounders as a kid but not a lot as Football was the game even in summer. But Baseball was played in the 1880/1890s in England. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baseball_Ground
Huge cricket fan here. Just a reminder that Australia has won more Ashes than you Brits.. and you invented the modern game.
